The best thing about this hotel is its location. It is really hard to find a good hotel at the same price at such a nice location. Rooms are big, comfortable. Service is also nice although I feel rooms can be improved moreover it is a decent place with great location.
The behavior of the staff was very rude and unprofessional. The man and girl were fighting with me at the reception. Initially, they were nice, but at the time of check-out, they asked me to pay extra. And when I asked, he started shouting and telling me that the fare for the room where you had stayed was more than what you had paid. But since I was in a hurry to catch my bus, I had to pay them extra. I think it was a very bad and miserable experience for me.

The hotel is in perfect location, it is clean and spacious. Climbing steps is major issue for shimla hotels. Luckily for Diplomat hotel, the taxi comes upto very close to steps, there are minimum steps/slope even seniors can climb. The biggest bonus is the hotel is on ridge and Malltoad is lessthsn 5 minutes walk. Hotel rooms with vally views from balcony makes the holiday lively. View from hotel balcony.
