We happened to visit Hotel Dev Palace while looking for options to stay in Barnagar, Ujjain district, M.P.. Located at walking distance from busy Hajaari bagh bus stand, the hotel offers budget accommodation to its visitors. The friendly front office staff showed us the lodging options. The well-maintained wee too gaudy and the washrooms carried a stink. The relief was an attached well-maintained vegetarian restaurant that offered multi-cuisine dishes. A five star rating would require 1. maintaining a better hygienic living conditions 2. improving eye-appeal in rooms 3. a wheelchair accessible first floor.

Giri Dhaba is famous for its 'Dal - Bati'(it's staple in malwa region). They serve varieties of mouth watering Dals like khatti mithi, fry, normal. If you are in Barnagar it's a place to Visit. The price here is moderate.

Definitely the best restaurant in Barnagar in terms of taste. This is one of the oldest restaurants in town. Many new places have opened and closed over the years but Swastik remains the favourite.
They have an impressive assortment of teas here. Decent place to sit & try a couple of varieties since Darjeeling is THE place for tea enthusiasts. Bets thing is that they have tea at all ranges.
