3rd class hotel. Over priced. Top floor rooms are full of monkeys. No proper locks in rooms. Also hotel is on top of the hills. You have to first take lift to reach mall road, then walk for 10 min on steep hilly road to reach hotel. Normal people can't reach by walking as road was very steep. You have to opt for Cab. Also only special permit cabs are allowed near hotel. You have to spend extra bucks for cab. Won't recommend this hotel to anyone. Pls stay if want to send your money and energy. Only advantage was good view from hotel.
Given the overall low standard of hotels in India, City View is slightly above average, although if it were in any other country, I'd give it 2 stars tops. Rooms have a certain coziness about them, although never clean enough. It is cold at night, and most you can expect is an extra blanket. Make sure you get a room with an access to the patio (on the top floor). And beware of the monkeys, who not only make toilet on the patio sometimes but also jump around the roof at 6 am making raucus. Staff is reasonably helpful by the Indian standards. Location is okay, but it will be a hike to get back to the hotel.
The Hotel City View has a very friendly, polite owner and staff. The location, less than 100m from Christ Church on the Ridge, is the cream on the cake. It gives you access to the very happening Mall Road, with its cafes, restaurants and bars within a matter of minutes. There're also paved roads leading from here up into the forest and the Hanuman Temple at Jhakhoo. Should you choose to opt for the ropeway cable car, the building is just 30m down the road. A McDonald's and a Brewhouse is close by, on the way to Christ Church. Small dhaba-like cafes cheap on the wallet line the same road. The 180deg views from the terrace at the hotel are marvellous, with clear views of Christ Church, the Jhakhoo forests, and the valleys and mountains in the distance. You might want to keep your door locked against the very mischievous pack of monkeys and avoid eating in the open.

Staff behaviour was great. Came for pick up and drop to bus stand. Homemade food pure. You can enjoy the full view of city from the room. Location is little far from mall road, But worthy to stay
Got the 3 bed room in about 1100 rupee, have to say the hotel is really great for what it offers , rooms were definitely amazing i loved the wooden wall and the mirror design on the ceiling with wooden carvings, if you on a budget you should definitely check this one out
