HOTEL CHARRING CROSS, OOTY - Hotel in Ooty - The Nilgiris, India

Worst rooms and geyser are too slow and hot water in taps will be too slow might take around 20mins to fill a bucket. Taps will come with your hand when you operate. Except maintenance man and maintenance supervisor no one will help you in any way. Early check in of 2 hrs caused me to cost extra 500. I changed 3 rooms and finally got one that too after a big conversation. Except the location of easy access nothing will be ok here. They are saying that after the renovation work all will be fine. Please do double check current status by any means before booking. No kettle will be there for each room. Common drinking hot water only available. No room service will be available from the telephone in the room. It will be a dead phone.

Your Privacy at risk. This Hotel is Just Awful. Staff are so Pathetic they enter the rooms of Couples during their absence without informing and Breach the Privacy. Can not even argue with this uneducated Brutes. Not sure if they have hidden cameras inside. Better to live on road rather than renting a room here.

Stayed there for 2 nights. The room we got was good, it was on 2nd floor. The hotel is directly on the main road and very near to the botanical garden. It's also infront of the Tamil Nadu Govt Hotel. You need to tell them to start the hot water. For drinking water, I found the colour was yellowish. You don't get bottled water here, there is a common water dispenser, which gives normal and hot water, it is used by the entire hotel. Overall good enough, we mostly used the room for night stay. We were out sightseeing the during the day and we had the food from outside during our entire stay.

The moment you step in the hotel you are welcomed with leaking water right on the steps. The whole reception area is messed up with damp footprints. The staircase is all black as if not cleaned for several years. The whole hotel has a leakage issue. No housekeeping service to meand the room. The room had strong unbearable damp smell. The entire bathroom was damp with water seeping through walls. Tea coffee satches were not provided. The hotel reception was always helpless for any kind of assistant. The only plus point is location else the hotel deserves a negative rating.

Had booked a premium room. It was a spacious and clean room with nice view & ventilation. The hotel is recently renovated (could be a year back). Hot water was there atleast during the times ( morning and nights) when we were in hotel room. Hotel is located in a prime location of charring cross. A2B veg restaurant is at a 2 min walking distance which is another plus point. Overall a good hotel for short stay. Kindly note they charge extra 500 INR for early check-in before specified time. They have a travel desk as well arranging for sightseeing tours.

Such a good hotel it is and i had a great time staying here and the staff here are very friendly and supportive and the front office staff are very friendly and responding to my needs in time and really enjoyed the food and i recommend everyone of you to visit this place whenever it is possible and it is very near to botanical Garden and ooty lake and we got good support from the travel desk in the hotel and they are very helpful and really I had a great stay at hotel charring cross in ooty

Nice location but the service and washroom is very bad!!! I experienced the rice service last year but after management change its become worst!!! Not at all recommended for new couples!!!

We booked 2 superior rooms, one looks good and the other one is small in size. If u taking food parcel to hotel, take plates from out side as You won't get plates from the hotel. Poor response from reception/Hotel team. Also, u dont have intercom facility/phone to call reception, you have to go to reception in person for even small needs. Overall ok Experience!!!.
