Hotel Burja Haveli - Featured Reviews (1074)
Went to stay during the weekend. The breakfast was not upto the mark, very very basic. There were constant power cuts at periodic interval of 20 -30 minutes. The intercom doesn't work. Good for pets . But the cottages were too overpriced compared to the facilities provided.
We went there for dinner and they asked us to sit inside the restaurant. We ended up waiting for an hour but nobady showed up. When they finally came, they said it would take another hour to serve and was not polite about it even though we were the ones starving. Also had a dirty kitchen which is adjacent to the restaurant and you can see mice.
Booked it for a family function. It was nice. Food was good.. it has a old royal heritage feeling and the building is also well maintained.
The staff is wonderful and supportive.
Location is well withing the city and easy to reach. Nice to go in the monsoon season.
They have open dining as well as closed ones.
One of the best places i have visited.
Our Stay at Burja Haveli has been always a wonderful one. This is my third visit and every time I enjoy. Our kids enjoyed a lot in the pool. Food was also good. We went for jungle Safari early morning also.
we have come to this havelock after reading good reviews about it
well for my surprise this place has given us much better experience than my expectation.a wonderful stay with beautiful rajasthan style interiored rooms with beautifully curated landscape garden.you can spend the evening with folk song performed by local artists with a glass of red wine. yes they have a bar as well. food is delicious .the rasathani dishes are must try. a must visit if you are looking for a comfortable and wonderful stay.one more thing i must mention that the owner mr.lakshya singh is a very generous fellow. he has helped us in all possible ways .a big thank you sir
Its a nice resorts. Service is a bit okayish as nunber of people who serve are less. All in all its above average
Burja Haveli is a 250+ year old structure renovated to a limited extent and converted into a heritage property. It's on the outer limits taking at least 10-15 min drive to get to the main city. There are two decently big parcels of land on two sides of an outside town road of which one side has the building and the other one has huge lawns, parking, an open air gym and the mini swimming pool. It also has a hidden treehouse.
The GOOD
The owner is a thorough Gentleman who tries to take care of the property to the greatest extent maintaining a balance between modernity and history.
The food is quite delicious and they will manage spice levels for you/kids as required. The food is prepared hot and fresh and served with a lot of love and affection. You can see the 'Dadis' making the hot rotis
The terrace though remains closed offers some decent views
There are peacocks moving around freely and one can enjoy watching them and beautiful birds
The pool though small has a rustic and old world charm to it
In the evening once it's all lit up the Haveli looks beautiful. Gets lovely breeze and with some good music and traditional programs can be transporting experience
Staff is very courteous, helpful and pleasant
The cottages are located well, could provide a lovely experience of seclusion and slight luxury located amongst a lot of greenery and next to the Pool
The BAD
The rooms are small and there are no windows or hardly any views
The bathrooms are functional but in a bad shape with most fittings in dilapidated condition
Food can come across to be expensive overall with the way the breads are priced for the portion and quantity one gets
Bathrooms can get smelly due to the drainage being how it is off city limits
Breakfast is pretty basic with Poha, Parantha, Papaya, Curd, Boiled eggs and Corn Flakes but then not bad for the offer price
The Treehouse could be a good addition if it's maintained and kept open
The UGLY
Since it's outside there are open drains along the roads and since it's now a populated area it gets dirty and smelly
With a lot construction all around the views are more or less blocked
There's noise from construction and sometimes there are marriage functions or religious ceremonies and it can get really loud and noisy.
Overall i would rate it at 3.5 and maybe worth a night stay and some hours in the morning to enjoy the lawns, pool and Nature if one is ready to compromise on some factors mentioned above.
The TV is not working and the food is very costly.
otherwise it is good.
