Hotel Broadway - Hotel in Shillong - East Khasi Hills, India

Hotel is closed since last 3 years. Someone named Deepak Kumar is making fraud in the name of the hotel. He took full payment of Rs. 2000 from us. When we reached the spot we found Hotel is under maintenance. Further we got to know this type of activities are common in cherapunji and shilong. Please be aware. Don't fall for the trap.

This hotel doesn't exist. It's a fraud hotel, has been shut down since Covid. The contact number is of a person named Deepak Sharma, who is a fraud. He'll trick you to send him huge amount of money via UPI payment saying, "Just put the PIN, your money won't get deducted, it's just the booking invoice number". Don't fall for this hotel, it's a trap.

the staff are very disrespectful. the hotel is falling apart with zero maintenance. stinky and dirty washroom.no pillows. no bathroom slippers. no heater. no extra blankets. the blankets they provide are too thin for Shillong cold. this is after we paid 1800++ for the room..there are much better alternatives at the price.

It was a family trip, and I stayed one night in February 2020, which they charged 1500 INR to me. Pros of Broadway Hotel 1. 5 minutes walking distance from Police Bazar Center Point. 2. The bathroom was clean and spacious. Hot water facility was available in the bathroom. 3. WiFi worked fine for me. WiFi Signal was strong. A decent LCD TV also worked fine for me. 5. Table, chairs, and wardrobe are available in the room. 6. The hotel staff responded immediately when I asked for any help. Like, add an extra pillow, change bed sheet. Cons of Broadway Hotel 1. Hotel boys and other staff do not understand English. They can communicate only in their local language. In my case, the staff knew only Hindi. 2. The room floor was a little bit dirty and no sandals in the room. 3. It is supposed to clean and empty trash box and ashtray but it was full of garbage and cigarette ash respectively. 4. No lift facility available. You have to climb the stairs to get into the room which is an energy killer, particularly for the third or above the floor.

Nowadays, Complementary Breakfast and AC facility is very common in all standard hotels having approx room rent range of Rs. 2000/- per day. There is no Complementary Breakfast facility as well as temperature control facility in this hotel rooms. Rather they charge Rs. 200/- per day for providing one room heater, that too defective, old fashioned and not having any automatic temperature control facility. Rooms are standard size rooms, but ambiance is not modern, fitted with all old electric switch boards, yellow colored lights, tube lights etc. and defective plug sockets where you have to struggle for mobile charging. So far location is concerned; the hotel is situated at a very good location i.e. on main road and near Police Bazar. However, there is no parking space for vehicle in front of the hotel causing hardship for loading/unloading of luggage as well as for movement of guests by parking the vehicle on main road. Hotel boys are very cooperative but attitude of managers are not professional and their behavior also not upto the mark. No facility of card payment, till date they are accepting hard cash only. More or less it was not a pleasant experience for me to stay in this hotel for 4 days during Shillong trip in January 2018.

Greta place to stay, but considering the price they could've offered complimentary breakfast. And the food that they provide with room service comes from the restaurant across the street and is too costly, so I rather preferred my food outside. Otherwise, the hotel is pretty nice and rooms are nice and clean. Hot water was available 24*7 in the bathroom and was also served for drinking when asked.

A Budget hotel, it is situated at the heart of Police Bazaar, Shillong. Have stayed here quite often and stays were quite pleasant. Double rooms are spacious with hot water facility. Cost is bit on the higher side considering the quality of room. Services is OK. The staffs are courteous.
