Second stay.
The property is a budget property with good services.
The staff is really helpful, polite and welcoming.
Food is simple and more like home food.
Would recommend it if you are looking for a comfortable and homely stay.
Insolent, insulting, brute Manager.
Stayed there from the 20-22 September 2023.
I had seen online that there were various categories of rooms, some which had balconies, some with bathtubs etc and to avoid confusions and assumptions, I called the property to ask if they had rooms which had both, a balcony and a bathtub. I called on the night prior to making the booking and prior to arrival, to confirm that the sort of room I was looking for, existed and that there was availability. After receiving a verbal confirmation regarding the same, I went ahead and booked the property. On arrival I was being shown either a room that had a bathtub or a room with a balcony and not one with both, as I had been told and on the basis of which I had booked this property. After trying to make the receptionist understand what had been discussed with his fellow colleague the previous night and my disappointment, the manager was called. The manager appeared and unapologetically said that what I was saying about there being rooms that had a bathtub and balcony was wrong and that, that was "impossible". He implied that a room that had both, was not a part of their establishment by repeating over and over that what I was saying was "impossible". To his bad luck, the receptionist on duty had already confirmed that they infact did have just one room which had both, but, it had already been booked. The manager refused to accept any fault or take responsibility, all along maintaining a cynical and aggressive tone. On being questioned about " how the receptionist did not know that the room I had inquired about, prior to making the booking was already booked" , he smugly responded, "how was he (the receptionist) to know when you were arriving". To which I responded, "you mean, besides the fact that I called yesterday, prior to booking this hotel, and asked about the room and the availability today?". What followed next was something unacceptable given the circumstance and especially unacceptable in the hospitality industry. The manager arrogantly retorted " there's no need for sarcasm". This agitated me as I was being provoked by adding insult to injury and crossing a line. In the same arrogant tone he went on to say , " there's no need to raise your voice", like a father to a child. I do not understand how this hotel even functions with such an inefficient and ill-mannered person managing the hotel. I was appalled. Unfortunately, I was there for work and had a very tight schedule or else I would have left and gone to a place that actually valued it's guests. I would like to add that at no point in this entire situation was there an apology or even a seemingly disguised sense of accountability.
Rooms are very nice, neat and clean and same as shown in pictures.
Vibes are good.
They have a nice cafe (vibes are good) but food is not that amazing. Its just basic food which you can get anywhere.
Location wise it's ok but once you reach there it's an amazing and a cozy place to stay. A mix of modern and traditional look.
I recommended this place for my out of town guests to stay. After roaming in the city throughout the day, we wanted to stretch our legs for a bit(half an hour) and freshen up , since it was raining heavily to head out for the evening, the staff was too strict with the rules of not letting in because of the local id.
Other than that it's a budget hotel close to city centre.
It is a really nice hotel with authentic rooms, good value for money. Food here is very hygienic and good in taste. This hotel is the best example of how with low cost best services can be offered to customers at a very reasonable rate. Though it is quite an old hotel but very well maintained and really clean.
My recent visit to Hotel Arya Niwas in Jaipur was a truly exceptional experience that warrants more than just praise. Nestled strategically in the heart of the city, the hotel's location seamlessly combines convenience with a serene oasis of calm.
From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I was enveloped in refreshing escape from the bustling city outside. The tastefully designed interiors as well as exteriors and meticulous attention to detail spoke volumes of the establishment's commitment to providing a superior guest experience.
What truly set Hotel Arya Niwas apart, however, was the impeccable professionalism and unwavering hospitality of the staff. Their dedication to guest satisfaction is truly commendable.
The hotel's facilities and amenities were equally impressive. The rooms were elegantly appointed, exuding a blend of comfort and style.
I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment to the discerning traveler seeking an exquisite and memorable stay in Jaipur. It embodies the essence of remarkable hospitality, where every moment is designed to create lasting memories.
Our check in was smooth, the guards that greeted us were friendly, along with the female maids.
The living part of our room was pretty with vintage decor and good welcome pack of what the hotel offers, that said not all TV channels listed on the menu worked on the TV.
The handbook is a good touch, they offer yoga classes, massages, day trips and others. They have clearly put a lot of effort in trying to create a good information pack, I wonder if it needs updating I.e tv channels.
The bathroom was unpleasant, there was a strong smell of urine. Due to our close proximity to the kitchen it smelt very strongly of spice and a mixture of those smells. The bathroom tap was very weak and didn't let out much water. The shower often blocked up as you can see in the photos which added to a bad smell.
The bed and pillows and bedding were clean and comfortable.
The restaurant was very basic, the portion sizes were very small and lacked in any real taste. The male staff member sitting behind the till was not friendly, he communicated in grunts rather than conversing in any language English or other. The restaurant service was slow and they got our order wrong more than once.
We liked the drink stations to fill up your water and the little front garden, along with evening entertainment in the library of people singing and playing chess which was nice.
Upon request we asked for an iron & the ironing board. We were given the iron and not the board. We had to call again and it was difficult to explain over the phone. The staff member who delivered it was unfriendly and didn't even talk just looking blankly at us.
Another night we ordered food to our room, it states in the handbook, please don't tip individual staff members, to this the male staff member was saying 'tip' pointing at himself I explained we will put a tip in the box.
To this, upon check out, we were quoted over 800+ RS bill. We had already paid that room bill and our restaurant bill as we went along. The receptionist called and conversed in Hindi, then just said 'okay'.
We did have our washing done there, to which it was an efficient service at around 316 RS.
We struggled to order an Uber on our check out to which the hotel got us a Tuktuk for 100RS.
The did let us have a late check out free of charge at 2PM as our train was in the evening.
Would I stay here again, yes but it wouldn't be my go to choice if visiting Jaipur again.
