There are few places that are discreet, hidden and humble and hence we tend to overlook those places given our recent exposure new age restaurant chains. If you don't believe in glamorous infra. Smart (speaking English I mean) waiters but want good tasty food you should try it.
As soon as you turn on to NH 83 from Trichy towards Thanjavur within 100 mtrs you can find this place. We were bunch of 4 guys traveling from Blr and craving to have good Tamilnadu style food. We hit Trichy by evening and stopped at this place for dinner - between the four of us had Idli, Onion Dosa, Podi Dosa, kheema Barotta. They served three types of chutney and sambar. All were great while the corriander chutney was kick ass!
Given this exp, we tried this place for meals on the way back a couple of days later. Firstly we were suprised that there are places that still serve lunch for 50! Expect the kind of simple but tasteful food they served. Sambar, KaraKuzhambu (one of the best with peanuts and small onion), Rasam, Avial, Yam Roast(another wow) buttermilk and Raw Mango pickle.
P.S. if you are a highway Traveller and looking for a place with Washroom this doesn't have.
Best choice for vegetarians. Food is really tasty and cost is also reasonable. Situated in Thanjavur main road near old palpannai junction.
Worst food, i had Mutta Briyani ( Egg Briyani ), they served similar to biryani platting manner, i was expecting Kuska with Egg , Shocking they served worst dry brinji with egg that too very limited quantity, you know the price? 110Rs omg!!! Seriously ... Guys you may think I am over reacting, if you wanna check, please visit once there, i will know how genuine my review is .... The only thing why people are visiting the spot is that it's closer to the bus stand (palpannai)... If the owner sees my comments kindly eat egg briyani once, evaluate whether it is worth 110 Rs ...

An excellent hotel situated near to Chennai silks and pothys. We went around 12 pm,almost all items were ready by that time. We ate in the basement hall,the hall located at first floor will be opened by 1pm.

Very quality food, they serve in banana leaf, tiffin's are very tasty with reasonable prices in Park restaurant and every item is good taste and prepared well. Mainly the veg biriyani is awesome. They do offer take away also. Very cleanly maintained
Great BIRIYANI!! Loved the biriyani they served. It was served in a matka style container and was really hot as well. The pieces were mind blowing and super tasty as well. The sides we ordered was also really tasty and nice. Service was really great
You can expect a very good and tasty Adai, dosai and a variety of it.... Also the must try is butter onion Adai and Podi dosai... On top of it the karkandu milk, manjal milagu milk with palm jaggery is also with a great taste...
