Hotel Akshaya - South Indian restaurant in Chennai - Chennai, India

Very near to my home and the food quality and taste is good will visit this hotel at least monthly trice, they also sell the side dishes separately like weekly once I buy vada curry which goes well with appam! My fav is morning combo breakfast and chilli parrota for dinner. They also serve indo Chinese foods as well.. Have attached few pics of mrng quick breakfast combo or mini tiffen

Few selective items taste extremely good while some disappoint us. Service is bad. Waiters show a lack of interest in work. They don't greet their customers, they don't recommend their specials, they use aggressive tone and stay near us staring while eating. The atmosphere is decent. Good for regular dine-in. Most items in their menu won't be available. That is a huge minus.

Decent place, enough parking, slightly overpriced. Reasonable quantity, good taste. Cleanliness could be better. Good gender diversity among the serving staff. Has both A/C(fixed time) and NonAC dining. Card payment available. Full fledged Tamil Meals not available. But there are meals variants. Has also fresh juice counter.

Due to purattasi time I'm regularly ordering veg foods, in recent times I've ordered Gobi noodles, panner fried rice, mushroom fried rice, panner 65, gobi65, panner butter Masala. Out of these dishes I would suggest the Gobi noodles, panner 65, they providing in 500ml containers only it doesn't fill our tummy. Best is buy a main dish and and side dish it will surely sufficient for fill our tummy. Gobi65 also good taste but some cauliflower are not boild properly some pieces are raw veggies that's the only issue don't buy Panner butter Masala it taste like tomato gravy it has too much of tanginess tomato flavor and tanginess is too dominant, i could taste any Masala flavors, panner and mushroom fried rice are good but they don't have taste any spiciness it's taste likely plain fried rice little bit low salt and spicy. They also Best hotel for Tiffin items in a decent price range. I never seen this hotel has empty they always have customers for dine in or for takeaways. When we buy Vegetarian food mostly we prefer this hotel because they have good taste and quality of food.

Food had been great here. Available at reasonable price. Service could be improved a bit. Had ambience of an old restaurant.

Newly renovated taste and quantity has down alot. The service is also very poor. The previous owners were Manglorians so the taste was like udipies. But now the taste has gone down and ambience has improved. Even the Idli was not cooked properly. This place needs to improve taste to retain customers.

I happened to visit them on a Saturday night dinner with a moderate crowd. As this was my first time started with Idly and decided to go further on how that tastes. To my surprise Idly was too good and their sambar as well. Next ordered their naan and paneer butter masala combo and this was literally out of the world to be honest. I've attached the photo of it as well . Many hotels in and around serve this combo, having tasted everything I would say with full confidence that Hotel Akshaya serves the softest naan. And lastly tried their Schezwan fried and it was decent and nothing to complain about. The prices were also pretty affordable. Definitely give it a try. You will love it.

Its a good place for quick bites, hygiene, economical. Taste is not bad too. You will find a variety of Dosas here.
