This is one hotel which i have been staying for the past 30 plus years during my visits to Madurai. I selected it for its proximity to the station/bus stand/ temples etc. Earlier the rooms were neat and service decent . But since a couple of years things have taken a downturn and there is no maintenance . Rooms are not swept and cleaned, bathrooms dirty and service pathetic. This is one hotel which should have really succeeded because of its wonderful location etc. but i wonder at the indifference of the management in maintaining it properly. Anyway we stayed only one night but not quite happy. Food is excellent for which i must rate it high. I request the management to bring back its past glory.
Worst value for money, the shower and flush are not working, the management is very rude, they care only about their commissions but the customers satisfaction and I suggest you do not come here if it is only a matter of a few hours, but if you are staying for at least one day then it is good to be here, in case if you land here after 12:20AM i.e. midnight, I suggest you to come here and enjoy your stay or else you can just simply prepare and then land to madurai... Most of the places here are worse,..
We love the south indian thali meals at Hotel Aarthy Restaurant. And our favourite is Andra Dhaal powder and ghee which they provide. The taste of it will induce us to have multiple number of time. Must try.
