Hostel Salwoods - Hostel in Dehradun, Kharakhet - Dehradun, India

Firstly I have to make some points clear before I share my views about Hostel Salwoods. 1. Its not a paid review and my surname being TANDON doesn't proves any blood relationship with the owners. 2. A place like this ( A Hostel or PG) is setup for making money and not for serving the country, so all those who think its a money making business .. YES!!!!!! IT IS... but for that you have to take a lot of pain and courage and have to make many sacrifices which common people ..specially college students don't understand. 3. Things get messy ( hostel premises, kitchen, garden, play area, bedrooms etc ) when you operate at such a big level but more important is to serve with love and care. And thinking others children as your own child and taking pain for every small issues means a lot. 4. You can hire people to rate with good reviews and others with bad one.. but at end of the day what matters is HOW that place actually is and more important is WHO are people running the show. 5. And people have habits or routines which you might find fascinating or sometimes bad but that doesn't defines the quality of work they do. Let's start with my introduction... I am 2011 pass out from UPES holding degree in B.Tech Aerospace. In my four years of college life then , I have stayed in Hostels only, I never wanted to experience PG life as in cook yourself, clean yourself and then study too ( that's too much for a college student). And my parents also wanted their son to be in a safe place and concentrate on studies which is the soul motive to get an admission in university. Thus I choose Salwoods. The hostel is closest to the university, is not on the main road - thus gives you a tranquil environment to study in peace. Food is great, there are indoor and outdoor activities too, and all the amenities are there. I would say only thing at last... It's your money, your child's career and your own decision. Visit the place, meet the students staying, meet the owners, taste the food, feel the vibes of the place and people around, and even stay for a day or two (they won't say no.. they just need happy people around) and then decide.

Mr Rakesh Sharma and Ashok purohit pls stop writing fake reviews on other hostel pages.. I understand you guys work for Tandon ji ND u have to justify ur job. But these unethical practices won't get u anywhere.. Please check the screenshots ND see that these two guys have written review on other hostel pages one after the other.. ND one more thing they have given best review to Hostel Salwood ...Hahaha... I also how the students staying in Hostel Salwood but I won't stoop to such level of writing fake reviews... Do check the screenshots.

A very clean and spacious(open garden with cricket, basketball, badminton facilities) hostel, with good laundry service and transportation facilities. Meal includes vegetarian as well as non vegetarian dishes with some delicious sweets. Caring owner and management, would recommend to have a look and stay for your course years.

Great friendly and courteous staff. Warmest and great atmosphere all around. Amazing and delicious food. Hygiene cool and clean place. Perfect place for super nice stay

A very good place to live met some good people as friends enjoying my time here very supportive hostel staff and a food experience and a fun place to stay and also have a great view from the balcony of the hostel. Some pictures I clicked during a very pleasant weather.

The hostel is 150 meters away from the main road, thus you can experience silence in rooms. It is surrounded by nature so you get to admire the beautiful scenic view around. Food over here is ok ok but changes in dishes are made monthly to remove the monotonous taste or remove unlike dishes. You will admire the garden in front of the hostel. Extra facilities include gym, snooker table, table tennis table and badminton court. Overall it was a good experience over here.

Very nice hostel and definitely a home feel atmosphere. One of my friend stayed there and gave very positive review. Quality of food is very good and healthy. Rooms are very hygienic and maintained well. They are taking good care of students. Good work Hostel Salwoods and a must recommend anytime!!
