It's the perfect place to slow down your travels and get lost for a few nights. The relaxing roof top area is a nice bar area at night and a beautiful spot to see the sun set across the lake. The hostel has a few nice tours to offer. Did only the walking tour which was great. Location is super central.

One of the best hostels I stayed at in India so far. The staff was super friendly and put a lot of effort to create community vibes. Free Chai for sunset is awesome and the cafe on the rooftop provides tasty food (bit pricey compared to local restaurants though). Rooms were clean and beds comfortable. Really enjoyed my stay at Mantra.

We stayed at the Mantra for 3 nights and were absolutely blown away by the hospitality and quality of the hostel. The rooms are well appointed and charming, with very tasteful finishes. All the amenities of the hostel are fantastic with no complaints to be found. A special mention needs to be had for the team that run the place. You would genuinely be hard pressed to find a more welcoming or professional group. Thank you team Mantra for making a memorable stay in Udaipur.

Unbeatable home away from home. Where to even begin? As an inexperienced hostel user, I had no idea what to expect arriving at Mantra in the middle of the night. I was judging my first impressions against hotels and I was not sure how this hostel would stack up. It surpassed all of my expectations with flying colours. Rooms: We stayed in an 8-bed mixed dorm, sleeping in paired bunk beds and I had the best sleep so far in India. The beds had electrical sockets and reading lights each, and were serviced with fresh linen. A comfortable mattress and an easy climb to the top bunk for those of us who aren't thrill seekers at bedtime, made for a restful stay. There was ample storage under the beds for my 65L ruck and my 50L day bag. The room had both AC and fans. The ensuite bathroom was clean and had hot water with good pressure. Service: The staff at Hostel Mantra were simply a step above anywhere else that I have stayed. Welcoming us at crazy o'clock in the morning, they set the tone early as friends and guides for our stay in Udaipur. Always willing to help or suggest, they turned the stay from good to amazing. A big thanks to all of the staff. Location: Set right in the heart of old Udaipur, the hostel is a stone's throw (or 5 minute walk) from the city palace. In that same radius are dozens of incredible rooftop restaurants to eat in, including Hostel Mantra's very own cafe. Nothing beats breakfast overlooking the lake just a flight of stairs from your bed. Experience: In addition to the above, Hostel Mantra was full of unforgettable experiences. The sunrise tour of scooters took us into the nearby Bahubali Hills and then to some incredible view points around Udaipur, ending with a tasty local breakfast. The heritage tour was a beautiful walk through the city, visiting Hindu and Jain temples as well as the market and local craftsmen. Then there's the Chai. At any time of day, a good cup of chai is a boost, but free Chai at sunset was the most welcoming and wholesome touch that added to the stay, a space to meet new friends and share the magic. The team also organized some impromptu trips, including a drive to a hilltop bar to watch the cricket. Overall, Hostel Mantra is more than just a bedroom. It is a lively place from which to experience Udaipur and really enjoy the visit.

Let me start by telling you all that I'm currently hitchhiking the country and very much depend on being hosted in hostels and that's where Hostel Mantra came in. They took me in for a week long stay, treated me like a part of their family and made sure that every moment I spent there was worth it. A beautiful hostel located at a stunning location with great host Ashish and his team. The dorms were spacious and the rooftop sunset view is out of the world. Highly recommended for your Udaipur stay.

Very clean. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The morning tour was also a gem. We spent some time at the rooftop and enjoyed the lake view and peaceful atmosphere, and that was amazing. Located in a deep street but very convenient to get to the tourist spots by walk. It'll be my top choice if I come back to Udaipur. And it might happen because it's my favorite city on my trip.

This was the first time I stayed in a hostel---and it was amazing! All the dorms, bathrooms were sparkly clean and spacious. Being a female traveler, I felt completely safe at the hostel. The manager and caretaker were very helpful and cooperative. They provided me with the list of places we can visit. The common room had board games, projector, books, guitar, music, and a beautiful view. The property is located in the old city, near Laal ghat, it's close to many cafes and popular locations still away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The terrace offers a spectacular sunset and sunrise view. If you're looking for budget-friendly options in Udaipur, look no where else than Hostel Mantra.
