Before going for a boat ride it is advisable to use life jackets. There are different areas marked for motor boat and for pedal and row boat. The average depth of this lake is 40 feet. Swimming inside the lake is not allowed. There is a system of depositing money before taking a boat and sufficient counters are available to get refund money after the boat ride.
Very nice place to visit as a family or couples. Love the view and nature surroundings. Few attractions for kids available eg train, 7D cinema shopping can be done, home made chocolates are available there. There are pedal boats, raw boats and engine boats are available depending upon what we select. It was awesome being there
This is rear entry of the boating place. Only power boat is available. As other places in Ooty, this also closes by 6 pm. Parking can be done outside near campus wall. Looks like a good place for family outing.
Loved the place with breeze and chill climate, enjoyed the scenic beauty of Lake. They charge 900 for a single boat, you may provide the whole and rent the boat for a couple/family or you may share with co-passengers. Max people per boat is 8. Ticket per person is about Rs.115

Must visit for a calm and relaxing experience in ooty. The ride was peaceful. The water is green in colour cause of stagnant water. Lots of boats like Speed boats,pedal boats, rowing boats are available. Camera and video camera usage is chargeable. Mobile camera usage is not charged. The entry to the place is restricted through tickets. The one I took was rowing boat which cost me 400rs. There is children play area. There are some shops where you can buy tea powder and chocolates.
A great place to visit both for couple and families... Suggested to visit in winters. High humidity in summers
We visited on a weekend and it is a bit crowded, 30/- is the entrance fee and once after entering, we can choose which kind of boating to go for - we opted 2 seater pedal boat which is 250/- for 30 mins (30 mins is waiting time as it is a bit crowded), at the billing counter they will collect double amount (250+250) the other 250 is refundable if we return back within 30 mins, the water is green in colour may be due to stagnant water, mobile camera usage is not charged while camera & video cam usage is chargeable, There is a play area with few rides & some shops which sell local tea & chocolates, overall a good experience
