The place is 123 km from Bangalore and it took around 4 hrs of drive to reach the destination. A place worth visiting. Initially we explored the place on foot. There is a hanging bridge which acts as a view point for one side of the waterfalls. For the other side we had to take the boats which costed around INR 500. Boat ride is hardly 5 mins but it's the only option to go to that side of the falls. Apart from the scenic beauty the food is good. For a fish lover it's a awesome place as fresh fish are cooked on the spot and served.
Beautiful place for both nature lovers and fun seeking tourists. Visited the falls during early November 2023. Beyond words. The Coracle ride is really the best way to enjoy the falls and views.
Hogenakkal Falls is an extraordinary natural wonder, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in its captivating beauty. The sheer power and grace of the cascading waterfalls are awe-inspiring, allowing for a close communion with nature. The surrounding lush greenery, unique rock formations, and the rhythmic symphony of water create an enchanting atmosphere. Navigating the waters on coracles provides a thrilling adventure, bringing you even closer to this marvel of nature. Hogenakkal Falls is a breathtaking escape, allowing one to connect with the raw, untouched beauty of the earth, leaving an indelible mark on the soul.
Definitely a great option for 1 day trip from Bangalore. The waterfall and the area around is fun. The boat riders do charge extra or whatever they feel like because they have a monopoly. But worth the experience.
It is the most beautiful place I ever visit .no words to describe it's beauty . nature at its best .it is in tamilnadu state 150 km from bengaluru.here you can boating beside the waterfall.and also eat fresh fried fish.and also massage by there traditional way .and also take bath under the waterfall.paking is available.and also hotels are available to take lunch and dinner.full of natural beauty .feel just like heaven.visit this place is worth money.Love this place
The place is a hidden paradise and can be visited by crossing curvy hilly mountain roads with a lot of altitude changes during the journey. Moreover, a person should be tremendous in driving to pass the route. Excellent place for a day visit. The coracle ride is the main highlight. The boatman takes you to different corners of the falls and it's a 1hr 30mins ride through the Cauvery river. It's an experience of its own. The place is in a rush on the weekends. Around 3hrs journey from Bangalore via the Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary.
Hogenakal Falls' natural beauty is marred by litter and plastic pollution. The flowing water is tainted, a stark contrast to its potential pristine glory. Irresponsible tourists have left their mark with litter scattered throughout. Unfortunately, some locals engage in scams targeting visitors. Despite its allure, Hogenakal Falls needs better conservation and responsible tourism efforts.
I visited. 05-09-2023. Yesterday is sometimes referred to as the "Niagara Falls of India," it is known for bathing areas and hired boat rides and as a major tourist attraction. Carbonatite rocks in this site are considered to be the oldest of its kind in South Asia and one of the oldest in the world.
