It's a very beautiful lake. If the weather is good and the sky is clear, I think you would have an amazing sunset and sunrise view. But the days we went it was cloudy and partially foggy, so no sun/sunset. The only thing I would say is if going in the evening, try to reach before 5:00. Around 5:00 people start coming in and there will be many in-considerate folks with loud music on their speaker phone blasting away the peace and tranquility of the place. A note to music lovers: Please use headphones if you love music. We come here to enjoy nature. Please be considerate of others. Everyone doesn't want to listen to music everywhere. Some of us come to such places to enjoy the calm and serenity of the place and to listen to the natural sounds of birds and insects.
Nice view of the mountains along with lake, pics u take will look amazing with beautiful scenery. Not so overcrowded but good place. Early morning visit by 7 to 8am is preferable
A beautiful view of lake and mountains. Must visit but plan the timings. Around evenings when the weather is pleasant the visit is pleasant. Charge up your phone and camera batteries, lots to click for.
Good place to go for a leisurely walk around this place. Scenic view for taking very good photo point. Inside the lake concrete is broken and not allowed as of now. Also they are building an arch at the front now.
The lake offers the most mesmerizing views of the landscape at the time of twilight and most of the travelers prefer not to miss the view. These scenic views are a treat to ardent photography lovers, especially the sunset shots and the greenery surrounding the lake in the form of Mullayanagiri Hills.
Hirekolale is the beautiful man-made lake and approx 10 km from Chikmagalur and about 50 km from Kemmangundi. It was built as a source of drinking water to the town of Chikmagalur and to supply water for irrigation purposes in the villages nearby. You can visit this lake anytime, but Best time to visit sunset or sunrise to have a serene and mesmerizing views. There is no entry fee, its surrounded by lush green mountains. Its not well maintained by government. Entry to the lake is prohibited, since small pool is broken, so avoid to go on pool for selfie or photographs. You can seat on the steps beside the lake and enjoy its beauty in peaceful environment.
Stunning views and scenery around with pleasant weather an added bonus
A vast & picturesque lake located on the foothills of Mulayangiri . It's quite close to Chikamagaluru town and one can spend a quiet evening here completely admiring the natural beauty....the surroundings are filled with aroma of coffee plantation and on a cold evening, you can grab your plate of Bajjis with Tea with the nature brimming with beauty in front of you ...
