Yes, I thrilled to see the graveyards of Siraj and his wife with other family members.
The most hidden place of Murshidabad that holds the real history
Mansurganj Palace or Hira Jheel. Nawab Siraj-ud-Daula made this palace on the western side of River Ganga. Prior to this the Nawabs used to do their Nawabi from The Palace of Ali Vardi Khan in The Eastern Side of Ganges. Siraj, for the 1st time chose the eastern ghat of Ganga to make a huge palace and he also dug out a "jhil" just beside this Palace, taking water from the flowing Ganges. In the full moon night, when the moonlight fell on this jhil, it shone like diamonds ! ( Hira ) Thus the name Hira Jhil Palace. When Siraj became the Nawab, he started his rule ( Darbar ) from this very Palace. However when he was defeated in the battle of Plassey, the decline of Hira Jhil Palace began. After betraying Siraj, Mirzafar with the help of Lord Robert Clive also ascended the throne in this very Palace. Then after Mirzafar was thrown away from Nawab, by Mir Qasim, his own son in law, the Hira Jhil Palace was abandoned. Later on its believed, due to earthquakes and the River Ganga changing course, the Palace was destroyed and today only the base of the mammoth palace remains. If the earth is dug, may be more would come out of the lost history. The present day Hazarduari Palace, on the eastern side of River Ganges, was built almost 80 years after Siraj died. It was built by the descendants of Mir Zafar, the betrayers, with the help of British Civil Engineer Sir Duncan McLeod.
Once forgotten but the recent years saw the importance of place related to the most respected & celebrated Independent Nawabs of Bengal, Siraj-ul-daulah. Murshidabad earns the place in National history because of Siraj ul Daulah.
On the opposite side of the present Jafraganj (on the western side of the Bhagirathi River), the last independent Nawab of Bengal, Bihar and Orissa, Siraj-u-Ddaula's Sadher Hirajhil, has been absorbed into the Bhagirathi. There is no trace of the Prasad except a few parts of the broken square.Long before Siraj became a Nawab, he arranged to bring various stones from Gaur to build the diamond. He heard about the glory of Motijheel and aspired to build a similar splendid palace. He prepared a jheel near the palace and increased the beauty of the jheel by covering it with various stones. This diamond was divided into different areas and they were called by different names. The reflection of the palace in the water of the lake spread a wonderful beauty in the daytime.
Shows proof of complete immaturity of the last independent ruler of Bengal. Heerajheel was a low lying area, often submerged by floodwater and was obviously a very poor choice as the location of a palace. Waste of money and power. Few bricks are still available to see the proof to understand the great idiocy of the totally incompetent young Nawab.
Its place of siraj's palace which was destroyed by British and meeron
Why no one is take care of hirajheel prasad please everyone do something so government will take care of this palace
