Himalayan Yoga Retreat - Yoga Retreat Center in Rishikesh - Pauri Garhwal, India

I purchased the 7day Self Blissing package- The yogic food was delicious and the location was peaceful (outside of Rishikesh proper) There were several opportunities to better manage expectations. The website descriptions did not fully match what I experienced. For example- 1) the site description of the qualifications of Swami for both yoga and Reiki- though he did not deliver either course. Nor did he interact with the participants the 2 times I saw him on site. 2) The Ganga river is not running directly behind the property- it is a bit of a hike and you cannot hear the water run from the buildings. ( main reason I selected the location was the easy access to the river) The daily schedule shifted a bit several times - which was a bit frustrating when trying to plan around classes. The actual location is https://maps.app.goo.gl/68j4TWiJp98zZJYz7. The location still listed on google is a previous property. A taxi to Rishikesh/ Tapovan will run between 1000-1500 INR each way. The hosts were wonderful about arranging taxis. The yoga teachers we had were well trained, though we had a change of teachers that was unexpected when a larger group joined the retreat. The Reiki teacher was excellent. While the hosts were lovely individuals- I can't say that I would return based upon my experience.

I had a wonderful stay at Himalayan Yoga Retreat. Vineet and Deepali were perfect hosts - their hospitality and that of all their staff made the visit feel more like a home stay than a hotel. The food was simple but tasty and the variety was amazing - the cooks were terrific and really cared if you enjoyed their food. The yoga teachers were very experienced and catered for all levels. I was a beginner and overextended myself on the first day and the teachers were very patient with me while I was recovering. I liked that there was a spiritual element to the instruction too, with some of the teachers explaining the meaning behind the practices. The centre is not in Rishikesh town which may not suit some but I really enjoyed the rural setting which gave me the opportunity to have some downtime. Wow! What I can say... Swami came to my retreat centre and delivered an amazing workshop for me and our community. It was truly magickal... so powerful and so informative and also so much fun! The techniques we were taught are easy and incredibly healing... all the teachings were fantastic. I felt like we all released so much and most definitely increased our Prana. With so much love and Gratitude, I'd like to thank Swami and I hope to welcome him back very soon to our space and I want to continue my personal learning in this area of knowledge and wisdom. Hi I spent 7 days at the centre, it was awesome experience in all respects. First of all its location is very exclusive. Staff is very friendly and supportive. Regarding the core of this retreat, yoga was something beyond my thoughts. Both yoga guru Pawan Negi and Mr Rajat are exceptional, their knowledge is unmatched. Friends don't forget to avail the therapy of unblocking of your emotions from Guru Hari. A very interesting person. My stay was very comfortable and with the help of Mr Vineet and his family, it become unforgettable moments of my life.

Himalayan yoga retreat was a very good place for me. We were a group of 16 which included our two yoga teachers. They organized the morning yoga sessions very promptly and with the surroundings where the retreat is located it proved to be very tranquil. They had all the equipment required for yoga like mats bricks belts cushions . This was very useful. They organized yoga havan and satsang which was something new to me. They were able to organize transport as and when required for us to visit the river front or other outings. They were very hospitable and served good freshly cooked food very affectionately. I didn't experience the yoga centre myself but we had the pleasure of a visit from Swami Rakesh in Ireland Nov 2023. It was a really wonderful experience, Swami did group workshops and 1:1 counselling and healing sessions with many people when he visited. He was greatly received and his teachings will stay with us forever. We look forward to seeing him again soon in Ireland. Thank you Swami Rakesh
