Hillview farms and homestay - Home Stay in Mysuru - Mysuru, India

Absolutely loved our stay at Hillview. Really cannot imagine better hosts: Geetha and her husband went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable, extremely well fed and our 3 year old had the time of his life. The accommodation is simple and spotlessly clean. The farm is gorgeous with cows, fowl, a baby sheep, friendly dogs. We absolutely loved our sunset walk into the pretty local village. This is the place for you if you are looking for a calm, quiet break and wonderful delicious healthy organic food.

Lovely quiet Homestay. Mrs Geetha and Mr Sugunan are very affable hosts, stayed up till 11.45 pm to receive us and make us comfortable and settle down in our rooms. The food they serve is healthy, tasty and organic food, just like home food. They were present to supervise our every meal and see to it that we are fed well. The rooms are small and cozy, with all essential amenities. The gardens and greenery all around with the flowers and fruits trees and the coconut plantations in the premises really give you a feeling of being in another world. It is away from the noise of the city and yet, easy reachable via Google maps. The dog Choti and the three cows were a pleasure to behold and pet. Our six year old son really enjoyed his time watching the cows and feeding them and petting them. The staff were all pleasant and ready to serve whenever you express any need. Biofuel powered geysers gave excellent hot water. It is in Chikahalli village and one can just take a lovely walk outside to see the green village outside. It is about 15 mins drive from the centre of Mysore city. It is an ideal place for a family if you are looking for a lovely healthy short stay in Mysore on a vacation and show kids what is living amidst nature. Do not expect a hotel like atmosphere, it is a Homestay at an affordable price with all the amenities one needs during a vacation. There is a good medical shop at the corner of the street with all essential medicines. Many Thanks to Mrs Geetha and Mr Sugunan for making our stay memorable.

A pleasant home stay located on the outskirts of Mysore. The accommodation is in small cottages built in the midst of a coconut grove. The property is in a large garden which houses a small farm - residence of the elderly, retired couple who run the place. The main building is the residence of the owners and there are a couple of other buildings that provide rooms for visitors. There is no room service as this is a simple homestay. Food is served around the swimming pool at the main building. You will be given excellent company by Chotu, the friendly labrador. Food served is pure vegetarian and home made with most ingredients obtained from the garden. Since the place is located away from the center of town, it would be best to have your own mode of transport if you choose to stay here.

Hillview farm is an extraordinary place to stay. We don't think there is another thought to stay somewhere else if we get opportunity to come back again in Mysuru. Feeling of pure nature is absolutely marvelous. Everything is fresh there. Atmosphere, air, food, and even thoughts. Food they prepared is organic, fresh, delicious and self made. There was no repeatation of dishes in our four days stay. Both Mr. and Mrs. Sugunan are very nice in person and were eager to help us in every aspect. Both are very gentle and caring. Thanks to them. Staff, specially Saroja is also very nice. Services given by her with lovely smiling face is unforgettable. Rooms and amenities provided are good enough. Complimentary breakfast. Sufficient parking space. Everything is neat and clean. Staying at Hillview farm is memorable and great experience. Highly recommended.

Best Homestay I ever stayed. Great hospitality, lovely people and friendly pets. Wonderful home cooked food using naturally grown vegetables. Must visit place to refresh yourself with fresh air and lot of love :)

Home away from home! Gorgeous green spaces, healthy and tasty home made food. Great bird spotting place. And easy access to most touristy areas in mysore. This is heaven!

Awesome place if you're looking for a nature or farm homestay. The host Geetha is cultured and so hospitable as is her husband. Just what we were looking for ! Our kids fed the cows all day! Nice enough pool for me to swim , water is a bit shallow but chlorine free. It's great for kids to swim too. Food : It's all organic , and so tasty. The fare is Idlis and home style vegetables gravys , and tea during tea time. The kids got fresh cows milk and ghee. Pets : There is a black lab called Chotu that I and the kids petted quite a bit. She is friendly but chained mostly during day. There is a guard dog , a doberman, but he stays put in his den. Activities: Well you can swim, get a abhanga oil massage, use the swings in your balcony, water the plants, feed the cows, watch cows getting milked, stare at Chamundi hills, and sip any organic beverage. It's a health conscious property :) Accessibility: Fantastic highway road till 600 metres and then a nice enough village mettaled road Till the farm. It is very close to Mysore zoo, palace, etc. Rooms: They are well kept and decent with big balcony or verandah to spend time in. A bit small for my family of four but we managed , and they offer a matress if you need one . But it's perfect for 2 or 3, or you can book the ground floor rooms that are a bit bigger. Other : it's an organic farm so 100 c/o bug free or AC luxury are not to be expected here. But we came in December and had no power or water issues. Massage: my and my wife loved the abhanga massage. Highly recommended and cost effective too. Full one hour by two qualified English speaking masseuse. Overall if you love a genuine nature kind of place and a home stay experience , you will not be disappointed. Go right ahead.
