When you look for a ground to play you want to have a good grassy ground. This is a standalone place , only one of its kind . Located next to hijilli Railway Station, west Bengal, this ground has witnessed a number of football , cricket and volleyball tournaments since decades. This place is maintained by the Tarun Sangha club, which also organises the most celebrated festival of the Bong #Bengali people all over the world which is the durga pujo. The locals have played a great role in protecting the playground from mafia. They have fought a long lost battle for the protection and preservation of the playground and seemed to have won it.
I became a sports person by playing in this ground. Later on I became SPORTS OFFICER of IIT KHARAGPUR and Working Comm. Member of CAB. I could because of this ground. Many IIT KGP students like Tap an Malik, Late S. Murmu, Surya Mitra Sen, Indrajit Lahiri also played in this ground. They represented Hijli Tarun Sangha in various tournaments.
