Hijli Sarif or Masnad-i-ala is a religious place not only for muslim but also for Hindu. It is a historical place of the Contai sub division. Initially Hijli was a small island village on the banks of the Rasulpur River as it flows to the Bay of Bengal. In the year 1586 Hijli was a famous port of Bay of Bengal. According to the history Taj Khan was the emperor of Hijli state. He took his nickname "Masnad-i-ala". He established Hijli sarif for both hindu and muslim.
