Highway Gomantak - Goan restaurant in Mumbai - Mumbai Suburban, India

We were here on a Monday afternoon and there was no waiting. The place was busy, well maintained, and hygienic. It offers traditional authentic Konkani/Goan style of food. We had ordered Bombil Fry, Pomfret Fry, Surmai Curry, Pomfret Thali, Caramel Custard, Solkadhi for the table. The food had fine balanced taste all across the menu. It was neither too spicy, nor sweet nor too sour. It was healthy, easy on the stomach and full of great taste. Amongst the balance of everything, the place felt a little overpriced compared to the quantity that was being offered in the curries! So, keep in my mind for a full course meal it might make a dent in your pocket (~INR1000 per person) Overall it's an unmatched experience and a must visit!

Not Sufficient Quantity. I found prawns over cooked. The Quantity of Gravy & Rice is very less. When I asked for some gravy, the person said they provide only chicken gravy. Overpriced !!!

Honestly had heard a lot about this place and hence had high expectations but this overall turned out to be a decent average place for seafood. They don't have the concept of tawa fry fish... It's all deep fried. Had ordered crab thali with wade but was served with puri which was very surprising . The crab was also very very small but the gravy tasted good. Another thing I ordered was stuffed pomfret which was also deep fried but tasted good due to fresh fish and nice masala stuffing.

Had the bombil rava Fry, and surmai thali. Bloody gobsmacking stuff. The rava prawn fry was heavenly. Special mention to the mutton gravy( idk what it was called) whos meat was so tender and soft, didn't need anything more. Had to end the meal with kharwas which was very fluffy. Just perfect.

I am appalled at the way thali is prepared. Special fish thali costing 500/- has pumkin(kaddu) ki sabji. Nowhere in the world have seen such a combination of fish thali. Fish given in the thali is not a big sized cut but a med sized with a big hole in it (potakadcha tukda in marathi). All in all not worth 500/- Sabji doesn't have flavour, pumpkin not cooked, no salt. Alternate sabji given was doodhi :'( Would not go to this restaurant again. Won't recommend also if you're a foodie. Would rather say take a detour and go to satkar or jai hind if you want authentic taste.

The food is good and priced decent, you can't go worng with a fish thali and the crab masala is also a must try, the prawns fry is a good complimentary side dish to go with your rest of the order.

The bangda curry was just amazing!! The mutton thali was also good. The prawns fry was okayish, didn't find it fresh. But would definitely go back for the curry

Food is awesome just little less quantity as the price is little high... also the fish served was fresh Mori Masala was amazing Must try for fish lovers
