Hide and Teak - Farmstay in Doddi - Ramanagara, India

This is a wonderful getaway, and in everyway comfortable, this little farm stay is tucked in between other agricultural farms, hill locks and ponds, so nature is plentiful. The farm itself is dotted with so many native flowering shrubs and trees that you can watch plenty of birds, butterflies busy doing their thing for hours. You can take short easy hikes up hill locks and ponds near by. The rocky terrain around the farm makes it so scenic. The staff is thoughtful and attentive to guest needs and do their best to make the stay absolutely wonderful. I asked for simple meals, it was made very tasty and wholesome. I so thoroughly enjoyed my solo stay that I extended it by couple of days. Definitely returning soon! The pics were taken in and around the farm.

A beautiful ambience whether you can relax without any worries. Unleash your pet ...there is no restrictions on them ...Sunil and his family are an awesome host...He took us to show a few century old Banyan tree through off-roading in his 4x4...The best part is the quality of food served during our stay..be it breakfast, lunch or dinner... complete home style , delicious and no unnecessary spices and oil. Limited items but prepared with lots of love hence amazingly delicious. Will come back again and again...Highly highly recommended from my end. Cheers!!!!

the owner of the place doesn't pick up call ( until you are totally lost in the village) , nowadays villages have better roads than the ones we took to reach this property and after reading this if you still book please pray to god it doesn't rain otherwise your car have to cross a muddy pond to reach this place as it doesn't have any motor able road and no sign boards to help the guests, not sure if we are even guests or just money makers for the host. about the cottages, we did find a nest and bed full of dirt and toilets where spiders have made their homes, since we criticised about the state of the room, it made the caretaker provide us better room, nevertheless the commode seat was broken , and the room had cobwebs and unclean sofa. We had made peace even with the non chlorinated swimming pool and not so great lunch , until the worst happened in the dinner we were served leftovers from the lunch for all items, same chicken curry, roti, rice and spoilt dal, which I highlighted and the cooking lady started arguing and we received worst behaviour from the caretaker and his wife who is responsible for the food. While they accepted that the dal is spoilt in the end- that too after intervention from another guest who also agreed on the bad quality of foods, they also did not forget to mention that people should not complain about that- even though that daal was prepared for the kids including our 3 year old son. What I want to conclude is that if the property owner is reading please take action as in this place food quality and cleanliness is a serious issue- it's not a family or kids friendly property, for us we didn't enjoy the stay at all. Hygiene, quality of food and behaviour of staff are three important aspects of selecting a property for a pleasant stay and this property does not have either of the three.

Hide and Teak is a very warm and comfortable resort. The rooms are rustic and gave a pleasant feeling to us. The food was homely and delicious. The service impeccable. The resort is at a distance from Shivanasamudra falls but close to Bhimeshwari adventure park. We had an amazing time there

A beautiful resort close to Bangalore, located right in the middle of a field. You can enjoy everything at your own pace. Food is one of the biggest positives. Small and clean swimming pool. We went with our 3 kids and all of us had a good time. Lastly, Andrew and team are great hosts!

I go for one , wish there was something more negative than it. A location with poor hospitality, no clean rooms - rooms having poor pest control " I kept struggling clearing, escaping from frogs in washrooms & scared on one honey bee hive in one of the washroom, lizards & my list goes on. Secondly, the hospitality- Mr Andrew with his colleague gave a discomfort vibe with no basic etiquettes of treating guests. The runner boy their is highly reluctant to do any requested service to guest. Most of food items will not be available when requested, through the list of requirements was shared a day before check in. Leftover from the afternoon food will ne served to dinner & I'm clueless for how long they kept serving the same rasam, while my vegetarian friends we're left with no choice than continuing with same repeat food. Im not sure the reviews ( except few) have only highlighted these. It's certainly not a warm place to be in any way. Not a suggested place to visit- stay wise, hospitality wise & location wise. Hoping this review guides the viewers to choose wise one for their vacation break & owner of the location too gets serious about the ground reality.

Awesome place.. Quiet and calm... Close to nature.... Rooms are very clean.. My furry baby really enjoyed a lot in nature which is hard to find in city... Excellent service provided by Andrew and team... The only feedback that I would request the owner is to plan a children's play area or an Activity room as there is no much activities for kids inside...

It's truly a pet's paradise to put it the right way They have ample space for our fur babies to sniff & explore. They have a well fenced boundary so there isn't much of a chance for our pets to wander away far. You can just leave them carefree and they will have an absolute gala time. The host Andrew is a gem of a person. All our basic needs are well taken care of. The food is basic but it's nice & home cooked. They have a fresh water pool - pls check before if it's functional. A small side note - To humans who do not like pets, you should either learn to coexist when you visit such places or choose to select other alternatives. Personally I loved this place for my pet and want it to be pet friendly & not turn into a pet tolerant one.
