Closed for public. Guards say closed from 2 months and may start repair works after 2 months or maybe after elections. I request government to kindly open such historic place for public
The board here says that the plant was brought from Madagascar and it's many centuries old. The tree is 25m in width. To reach this place Google map suggested 3 routes only one of the worked. The best way to find this place would be from the other side of golf course where you neatly have to go for around 1.5kms. the place is good for quick visit with family where you get amazing golf course view, Golconda fort view. No bathroom facility or else water. No ticket entry free. Better to go in day time.
If you are looking for this on google maps, you already know that it exists. The path to this location is not that great. Roads are narrow and confusing. I took my bike as I was not sure about the cars possibility of reaching it. It's right in the middle of the Hyd Golf Club and why I am unsure. It's a heritage site and that's what the board says. The tree is large but not scary. It's a perfect place to click some pics and complete that checklist or bucket list of things I have seen in Hyderabad!!!
I recently visited Hatiyan Jhad Baobab Tree and was thoroughly impressed with the experience. The tree itself is absolutely breathtaking, with a width of 25 meters and a history that dates back many centuries. It was fascinating to learn about the tree's origins in Madagascar and to stand in its presence.
The surroundings were also beautiful, with stunning views of the golf course and the Golconda fort. The atmosphere was peaceful and serene, making it a great place to spend some time with family.
It's worth noting that finding the tree can be a bit challenging. Google Maps only suggested three routes, and only one of them worked. It might be easier to find the tree by approaching from the other side of the golf course, where you can follow the road for around 1.5 kilometers. Just be aware that there are no bathroom facilities or drinking water available at the tree, and it's probably best to visit during the day.
Overall, I would highly recommend Hatiyan Jhad Baobab Tree as a place to visit. The tree is a truly amazing sight, and the surrounding views are breathtaking. It's a great place for a quick visit with family, and the best part is that there is no ticket required for entry. Just be sure to bring some water and plan your visit for daytime to ensure the best experience.
The place is located inside Hyderabad golf club though under archeological survey of india handover the golf club guys don't allow anyone to move freely and their patrons puton high and mighty airs. Restricting entry to historical places in my opinion is not good. The baobob tree is a wonder though as per the security guy it's very old and has a chamber inside of which it is said that the soldiers would hide. The information board said that the tree was planted by traveling fakirs who visited the nizams. The fort wall is accessible if you are good to the guard there are cannons on top and the view of golkonda fort is great.
The tree is almost 400 years old and said to be from Madagascar. It is surrounded by Naya Qila (extension of Golconda) and nice golf course. There is no entry ticket. Finding the place can be little difficult.
The most interesting part of hyderabad trip was getting to see the oldest tree in india located in the midst of the Hyderabad golf club. The place is well maintained and guarded. The security will give you a little details about the place too.
Many fables behind the history of the tree but it's resembles the Baobab tree in Madagascar .
The road to the place can get a little hectic in traffic and narrow lanes, so it's better to hire a car as a tourist.
It's almost 550 years old and still going strong. The Baobab tree popularly known as the 'Hathiyan-ka-Jhaad' located at the Golf Course in Naya Quilla, Golconda, continues to remain a centre of attraction for visitors from all walks of life.
It's a very big tree & it's been till now very good.
MUST VISIT IT ONCE IF YOU ARE IN HYDERABAD.
