Visit 3: this time got Chatti choru which I was planning to have since last visit. Just wow. This dish exceeded my expectations. It had many varieties of egg, chicken, beef, fish. Dry and fried items along with many veg dishes. I could not eat everything. All items were super tasty. Very economical than non veg thali meals that I have seen in other restaurants. At this day of review it costs 370Rs. Must try dish if you can eat well.
Visit 2: ordered chatti choru. There was some confusion whether it is available or not. Finally they said it's available when checking with someone. Unfortunately they served another dish (idiyirachi choru). It was tasty but I feel little disappointed they gave me something else rather than my actual order. During billing when i asked about it, they said original dish was not available. Not sure if this is some misunderstanding or not. I am reducing one start from service section.
Visit 1: Food tasted good. Ambience could have been better. I ordered egg biriyani and chicken fry. I'm satisfied with taste of Kerala style biriyani.
Taste wise this is one of the finest Kerala hotel in Chennai. The taste is authentic. The atmosphere is in very sad state. Hopefully a lot of dine in can change the atmosphere. Their Parotta, Kadala curry and Egg roast are excellent.
This restaurant is an absolute disaster. I recently had the displeasure of trying their so-called "special" pothichoru, which is typically wrapped in a banana leaf. To my dismay, they served it as a regular meal, lazily claiming that banana leaves were unavailable. The audacity!
As if that wasn't bad enough, the food was frigid, and even the non-vegetarian items were far from fresh. Despite my complaints, they halfheartedly reheated the dishes and served them back. To top it off, they managed to ruin the fish gravy by throwing in deep-fried nethily.
It's safe to say that freshness is a foreign concept to this establishment. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this restaurant like the plague.
For Kerala style food you can try here,
Chicken kizhi parotta well good
Rice with beef curry you can try it
Structure & interior decoration need to improve
They didn't hang out any bill board
So you have to think twice before order food
Food taste is ok not that good and not bad too. I tried both the chicken and beef biryani which is in Kerala style, chicken biryani was good. I too tried their barotta which is really soft and good. I had two curries one from beef and another from chicken, in that beef was yummy than chicken.
Ambience is not at all good, there is no proper maintenance. Service is also very poor, no one was there to give even water which is very bad. We asked for extra barotta they said it's over and says only rice is there but for another table they served it I don't know y they do this ?
I won't personally recommend to dine in bcas of their service, if you like to have Kerala style chicken biryani then you can visit this restaurant best to have takeaway.
It is a kerala restaurant near-by Mcc. We went there in the evening. The chapathi is too hard and cold. It is very difficult to eat. The quality is average. Service is also ok. There is no tea and snacks in the evening. It is a small restaurant. Price also in the medium range only. Overall it is ok for malayalies.
These guys serve excellent Kerala food. Hands down they serve the best kadal curry in around tambaram. Can't help but wonder why the ambience is in such a sad state. Its like they didn't renovate for 15 to 20 years.
Two years ago I went to Kannur (Kerala) for a weekend trip and it was the first time I had a taste of Thalassery Biryani it was delicious the hotel name was Paris Restaurant, I was craving for something similar in Chennai for a long time now. Today I decided to have my Lunch from this restaurant and it was a complete disaster. The minute I opened the parcel I knew it was cold, the rice was fragrant but the Chicken pieces in it were hard as a rock which means the chicken was NOT COOKED TODAY and it was coated with some kind of masala which was not at all nice, overall it felt unappetizing and the taste was bland. 0 star for packaging, 0 star for taste and 2 star for the pickle and appalam.
