Harangi Horticulture Farm - Garden in Harangi - Kodagu, India

This dam on Harangi river is a good place to be. Earlier they use yo allow tourist to the dam but now it's closed for general public. Only the garden is accessible and they would charge Rs.10 per person. Also, the dam gates are not open all the time and fountains are also not working. They open it during monsoon only rest of the time it's closed. The road to Dam is very beautiful. Also, there no parking facility it's at owners risk only.

Beautiful place to hangout for Friends family and kids too. It's quiet like a huge garden which is maintained clean and looked after authorities. It has a way to view the Harangi Dam. It's very beautiful to walk around the farm. Chairs and benches made at every point to sit and rest. Lot of families, tourists, friends visit here on a regular basis. It's the best place for chilling purpose. No any hotel or restaurant but you can small tea nd coffee vendors along with some chat stalls. Ample parking space. No entry fee was asked.

2 out of 4 gates of the reservoir were open and the view was splendid. As the water flow was high we weren't allowed to go closer but we could feel the blast of wind and sprinkles.

Reservoir is built across river Hemavathi. Dam gates will be open during only on rainy season. Musical fountain is available daily from evening 7 pm to 7.30 pm. No special hotels or resturant available here. Horticulture park and fountain are there but could be maintained in a better way. It takes around 2 kms to walk from gate to reservoir for closer view.

Harangi Reservoir is located about 30kms from Madikeri. This reservoir is built across the river Harangi, the tributary of river Kaveri. There is a beautiful farm built in front of the dam. Acres of land with beautiful flowers and trees, a very good picnic spot. People are not allowed to walk on the dam.

It's a beautiful, well maintained garden at the harangi dam. The view of the wall of harangi dam with its spillage is spectacular. The garden is big..with lots of species of flowers and shrubs. Pathways are well marked, with lots of benches kept to sit on and relax. Plenty of parking outside. There is entry ticket of Rs10 per person. Which is reasonable considering how well maintained the place is..I would highly recommend a visit here if you are going to madekeri, Coorg.

As the name suggests, this place has a huge and beautifully landsaped garden and is an ideal place to spend some peaceful time with your family or better half. There is an adjacent lake formed by the reservoir. Earlier, toursists were allowed to climb to the top of the reservoir but now it has been restricted owing to the accidents in the past. Entry fee is 10 rs pax and for camera they will charge additional 50 rs, you can carry your mobiles free of cost though

It's a nice place for kids to understand about the dam , probably in monsoon season with the water in full flow it will be fine and great to see , there is a nearby bridge where u can get down to the water which kids find it happy to play in water
