This is the shopping area of the city of Mangalore. Lots of resturants and tons of shops for all kinds of shopping needs from foot wears, to wedding collections to school requirements to eatables. This place has an auto stop and a bus stop which has busses from Statebank to all various locations in, around and out of Mangalore.
An average shopping area with many street vendors and some shops, the quality is not good. My wife Purchased some dress materials but when she tried from home it did not fit . the size mentioned on the dress was not matching. Easily accessible to various parts of Mangalore as Auto and Bus station is nearby. The locality is not clean.
You can find a variety of unique, and traditional items not commonly found in malls or big retail stores.Street shopping often allows for bargaining, so you can get for lower price. bargaining skills are essential, otherwise, you might end up paying more than the item is actually worth.
The street shopping is overrated.. There's not one shop here that sells anything that is native to Mangaluru. It is fusion on Bengaluru's Gandhi Bazaar and Chikkpete.. Only a very few old businesses around.
