Found this sweetly refreshing spot on our way back from Chikmagalur to Bangaluru, and it just became the highlight of our trip in no time. The place is not too off the highway, just hardly 3-5 kms. A peaceful, serene and eye-catching place as soon as you reach. This place actually distributes the excess water from the nearby Dam. So, there will be occasions when the water levels are high and that is when we visited. One can thoroughly enjoy a dip in the waters, or may just sit down to admire the beauty. You might also find some local kids fishing and swimming around too. We spent more than 2 hours and could have spent more with no thoughts. Do visit once.
Haluvagilu is the nearest outing spot near to Hassan city. It's just below 10km distance from Hassan to this place. It's a small check dam. We can walk over the dam and enjoy the water flow. It's very slippery place. Nice place for spending 1-2 hours.
Easily accessible, Tar road is available till the end. Free parking is available for both bike and car. After monsoon is the best time to visit. Water is polluted so not suitable for drinking or swimming. Water also gives a pungent smell. Better to visit during day time and best is in the evening. Avoid night time. Good place to visit once with family. Not recommended for a day plan. One can walk on the check dam during summer.
Very beautiful place. The approach road is a bit rough but worth it. You can walk over water, which was a super experience. Though it can be a bit risky with small kids as there is a lot of algae under water and requires a lot of balancing.
It's a small check dam. Worth spending 30 minutes. Water is not so clean, this shall reduce as littering comes down. Surroundings are bit clean. Google maps says 7 AM, but you can go before that. There's no parking fees or entry fees. This is completely safe, suitable for families, couples and solo travelers. If you are passing by this location, definitely you should check it. And YES, you will get a couple of good pictures.
2/4 wheeler paid parking available. Beautiful place. Better to go in groups. You can go over this dam/bridge. Also swim. Weekends will be crowded. Also go for a walk besides the stream. Good to visit during monsoon season. Water is clean. You can buy some snacks at this place.. please maintain cleanliness and leave the place how you would want to see for the first time..

It is not a water fall, a check dam. But good scenic views and can spend some time. Monsoon time the views are nice. Not recommended to walk through Dam.
