Halebidu Archaelogical Site - Featured Reviews (8753)
What a beautiful place for some stunning sculptures ! Each carving tells so many stories. I would highly recommend taking a guide for one round and then take time to appreciate the smaller scenes that have been etched in the lower layers of this structure. Absolutely stunning. On the right is an information center that documents the entire Hale bidu temple. I have been several times and never feel like leaving.
Must visit place. Every pillar contains a lot of intricate artwork which is really amazing. Even when outside temperature is warm, there is a cold environment inside the temple. Ample amount of parking is available. One hour is sufficient to visit the temple and roam around the premises. There are two large idols of Nandhi, which is also nice.
They have retained the architecture as it is. Surrounded with lush garden with lake n hill view. From hassan we have city bus service to halebidu which would cost you 30rs each. And takes abt 45min to an 1hr. Still archaeological dept take some measures to maintain the place by slapping more trees and with proper maintainence of garden. And cleaning the stone walls this could enhance the visibility of architectural design.
Lovely place to visit especially if you know about Achaelogy and interested in history of Hosalyas and sculpture. Once you start to enter the site the guides approach you and ask for their services.. We just ventured on our own and gazed and admired the woulderful art and sculpture. Very big area with a beautiful lawn at the rear side overlooking a lake and very picturisic. Good thing is they don't ask for money to leave your footware outside. A very clean washrooms at the rear end and here too they don't ask for any money to use them. Place is nicely maintained and we could easily spend upto 2 hours to relish the beauty
An absolute gem of ancient India. I would recommend hiring a guide so that you get the full experience of the carvings and stories behind them. A truly full filling experience.
Sculptures are mesmerizing, I insist whoever planning to visit this place have to get to know its history so that you will definitely enjoy the sculptures. Please take a guide for proper understanding it would costs you around 400-600 /-, they do explain things 40mins to 1 hour. But the thing is the security people won't allow to take proper pics they keep on telling not to go near the walls/sculptures and also whistling as warning sign, worst security ever experienced. Even though you are taking pictures they say that "video is prohibited you are taking videos".
A must visit place for all the history lovers...connected to the culture beautifully. Very intricate designs amazing architecture. Amazing story. No entry tickets. Would suggest to hire a guide to understand the indepth story. MUST VISIT!
Must visit place during either a to or fro journey to other northern/eastern part of Karnataka. It takes roughly a 30mins to 1 hour spend in this location based on your admiration and photography level.
No less then 5 stars , this is one of the place you add to 100 things you do before you die. Master piece of stone art and architecture of 11th century, from a distance it looks a big temple structure but as you approach closer & closer it speaks. Th
