Haldia Institute of Health Sciences was established in the year, 2003 by the Indian Centre for Advancement of Research and Education (ICARE); Haldia, keeping in mind the growing demand of the health care professionals and trained personnel in the ever increasing health care and health service sector. Right to health, as we all know, is one of the fundamental rights endowed by the Constitution of India. To provide quality healthcare service, there are various statutory bodies regulating education and training in various fields of health care services. Haldia Institute of Health Sciences always abides by this as we are committed to maintain highest standard of quality in health care education that we provide. As one of the pioneering institutions in the allied health sciences in eastern India and one of the biggest college conducting courses in allied health sciences in this part of the country, we are responsible to set the benchmark for others to follow. Haldia Institute of Health Sciences has been enriched by aspiring students of the state and surrounding states like Tripura, Assam, Jharkhand, Bihar, Orissa, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh etc. Initially this college started with two under graduate courses but presently this college is conducting three diploma courses, four under graduate degree courses and six post graduate degree courses under several departments. This institute one of the biggest and oldest Institutes in Eastern India. So, what do we mean by "Allied health sciences"? The efficacy of the Health care and service sector requires a well synchronized team work. The team is composed of well trained and efficient personnel from various interrelated fields. Allied health is a term used to describe the broad range of health professionals who are not Doctors.Allied health professionals aim to prevent, diagnose and treat a range of conditions and illnesses and often work within a multi-disciplinary health team to provide the best patient outcome. There is always a dearth for the qualified and skilled personnel in this sector as it is one of the fastest growing sectors. Our main objective is to impart quality instead of quantity in the healthcare education. To implement this objective in a part of the state where no other health care institution is present is a difficult process. But we have been able to maintain the highest standard, so far as our students secure the top positions in the University Examinations year after year. The college is located at the heart of the port city of Haldia, one km. away from the 'Ranichawk' Bus Stop and 'Bandar' and 'Haldia' railway stations. Important landmarks of Haldia like Haldia Development Authority building, Haldia Court, Haldia Municipality office, Ambuja Neotia City Centre, HIT are at walking distance from the college. The college is recognized by UGCu/s 2(f) of the UGC Act. 1956, MHRD, Govt. of India, Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Swasthya Bhawan, Govt. of West Bengal and Dept. of Higher Education, Bikash Bhawan, Govt. of West Bengal.

I dont know how this college gain good review. I am using different account (dont want to show the name) First of all, During admission they told you have to pay 70k but they provide only 25k bill. But lots of people who took admission lately they have settled with less money.( Some people around 40k , some 25k like this). If you have good rank there is no benefit. In west bengal all paramedical college provided good facility of lab practice session but here in CCT department they dont provide any lab practice session properly. They will ask for these fee that fee like sports, program fee, library fee etc lots of extra money they will taking from student. I request to West Bengal Health Science Board please look into this college. Please do a audit on this college, especially for CCT department, check the quality of education. As per rule there is two semester in a year but here only one exam happening per year. I request people before taking admission to this college please verify with alumni or senior student. After checking comments from college i am adding this: Actually i have not applied for requirements and also i am not a student of this college. Actually my daughter wanted to take admission into the CCT or CCU department. But unfortunately i have discussed it with a few seniors within the college campuses and got to know about this college. Whatever i mentioned all the comments mentioned by their senior student who is already pursuing their course within this college. I forgot to mention another big thing which is they are also taking money for passing the exam. I request every student who is going to take admission in this college kindly before admission go to the senior student who is already pursuing their courses from this college and get reviews from them.(like me) Now my daughter took admission in Sister Nivedita, Newtown kolkata and they have provided a good facility of lab and also quality education not like this college.( I am not promoting sister nivedita, just verify before admission where you going to take admission)

This is the oldest private college conducting courses in allied health sciences in the state of West Bengal. The college is situated at the heart of the port city of Haldia, Purba Medinipur. It is possibly the only private college in the state of West Bengal, conducting allied health science courses, to be recognized by the University Grants Commission, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India and Dept. of Higher Education and Dept. of Health and Family Welfare, Govt.of West Bengal. With over 400 students and 50 faculties, it has set its dreams higher to be the best in the country as well. With a galaxy of toppers in the University examinations, it has set quite high benchmark for its competitors in each and every aspect of learning. As an alumni, I am proud of my college.

It is the oldest Paramedical college currently running with post graduation in various disciplines with 1st college which start the master degree in medical laboratory technology with 3 specialized subject among all Paramedical college in Eastern India. It's student are automatically absorbed in govt sector as well as private sector. Currently it's student capacity is going to be 500.
