Gutur House by Robinhood Coliving - Backpacker Hostel in Leh - Leh Ladakh, India

Gutur House has a beautiful set-up but the management has no intention to manage it. Staff is always invisible. They don't even have a dedicated space for guests to fill water. Despite repeated reminders, they can't even fulfill the basic need to fill two jugs of water and place it in the dorms. With an overpriced menu where even tea or coffee costs 80 bucks, they serve cold rice when asked. If you take an upper bunk bed, you will crash your head against the ceiling. It was so disappointing.

The property is very good with spacious dorms and good common area. But the only problem is their miscommunication and overpricing of everything. Host is not at all interactive to you, he's just bothered of himself. They charge kitchen usage price without prior telling that it is chargable, other thing is if you take any ingredient from them, they will charge 4 times from you. Not at all recommended. Stay in Lehostel or Zostel- much better than this

We were on the lookout for a place to work from Leh and Gutur house turned out to be just the perfect option. Reachability: The place is hardly 5 mins from the market if you have a bike yet away from the hustle and bustle of the main market area. Accommodation: It houses dorms as well as private rooms. We stayed in a private room which was spacious enough for 2 people with a large attached private bathroom. We loved the minimalist room decor and setup. The bathroom geyser ensures 24x7 hot water supply. Gutur also has a couple of common areas that double up as coworking spaces. We were also provided with laptop tables in our room. Connectivity: As in the rest of Ladakh, only Jio and Airtel postpaid will work (as of July 2013). We never faced any issues with the in-house Wi-Fi or power. Wi-Fi connectivity was strong enough for work, audio and video meetings. Food: They have an in-house kitchen with lots of Indian and continental options. The quality and quantity are both excellent. They also have a couple of partner restaurants in Leh from where you can order food. Final thoughts: It was a terrific experience and we had no complaints. Ravi bhai who manages the place was extremely accommodating and helpful. He was really cool and helpful throughout our stay and ensured that we were comfortable. He also helped us get a scooter on rent (in fact accompanied me to get it from the market). Gutur is an excellent option if you're looking to working from Leh or otherwise. PS. Do not forget to pet Shiphu, the cutest husky you'll meet.

Super fast 200 mbps wifi. Very spacious rooms and bathroom w hot water. Ravi was an incredible host! Right near the Shanti Stupa. Little far from main market area but I liked that since it's less touristy and not crowded. I stayed 3 different times and would absolutely stay again!

My home in Leh! I cannot wait to get back. Try the individual rooms - the hostel is really nice too. Ravi - thank you for your hospitality and service. The food was really good. Hans - you run a great show, while Shifu the husky steals all the attention!

1. Good location, away from the hustle bustle 2. Nice wooden work 3. Kitchen food is nice, has taste. But late delivery. 4. Drinking water filter/tap must be installed around the dorm area. Hydration is important in leh and asking staff to get you water all the time is cumbersome. So better invest in RO/Aquagaurd etc 5. Staff is cooperative & friendly

Horrible experience. Booked it one month before with advance payment and when I went for check-in in the afternoon, they said it is completely booked. Horrible staff, horrible host. I had to change my stay place at the last spot. The pictures don't do justice to what it is in real. There is construction happening in the garden area.

Great rooms, amazing staff If you are looking for a peaceful place away from all city noise. This is the place for you.
