Langar (cummunity meal) is started by Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji (1st Sikh Guru )after spending 20 rupees on food for hungry Saints who had no food to eat . Since than langar is served free of cost to every religions devotees at each Gurudwara sahib ( a place where devotees ( from all regions ) pay obeisances in front of 11 th Guru Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji for getting blessings . We all must say dhan dhan Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji before having langar . Waheguru ji
