This fort is very rich in hiking in mountain , but they do naot have any development and any other history things. All come there only to sit and spend their time enough , youth people got trek the mountain But
In Gurramkonda this fort like as a guest house of Rani. With families we spend some time to enjoy.
Truly a hidden gems, this is a wonderful place for trek lovers. The fort has a lot of history which can be googled so will spare the repeat. Entering the fort you get to see the Rangini Mahal, you cant go inside as the rooms are locked but can take a look around. There is someone from ASI on prem for the upkeep and maintenance and are doing a good job. Not much amenities but atleast someone around. Behind Rangini mahal, there is a path leading upto a temple. The path is well laid out and not too difficult to walk. The path to the top of the fort is well laid out for about 95% of the way with a minor hurdle here or there but not too difficult. There are 6 gates to pass and there are few building structures along the way that are still standing. At the very top, there are few building structures intact and still standing, no idea what they could have been used for. At each level you have to marvel at the plan and construction to harvest rain water. And the 360 view from the top is just something you have to experience. The overall trek is about 8km roundtrip and will take approx 4-5 hours depending on how many breaks you want to take, fitness level and time you want to explore. But this should give you a rough estimate to plan your trip accordingly. Plan to head early and be back before noon, it does get really hot. Though steps are well laid, would suggest to avoid during rainy season as it will get slippery. Carry atleast 2L or water or more and something to eat but dont litter, please carry back your trash. There is no designated parking spot in front of the fort, just have to park your cars along the highway. There is just 1 hotel in town, opposite to the bus stand and a small one - you have to drive slowly to notice it, else will miss it. Else Madanapalle is the next best bet to find a good place to eat. For those going from Blore, avoid the route via Kaiwara-> Chintamani -> Madanapalle as lot of construction work going on along that route (as of now).
There's nothing to see except the cool verandah of the so called Rangini Mahal backside. The authorities have not taken care and no repairs, no drinking water, no toilet facility. It can be transformed to a better picnic spot than what it's now
Gurramkonda Fort is considered as one of the oldest forts. Its built in 14th Century. There is a fort on the top of the hill and the Kings used to travel on Horse to the fort. That is why the hills is being called as Gurram Konda. Even today, it is worthy of visit..
Very nice place, Rangini mall and Fort so many things are still in very good condition.
The view from the mountain is very beautiful, you will have best places for photography and you will experience a cool and great weather, but the only bad thing is there is a very very bad route to climb it, we have to go over the rocks, there is no steps and another thing is you don't find a single shop inside and over the mountain
