Gupta Hotel & Restaurant - Vegetarian restaurant in Melli - Kalimpong, India

We stopped here while on our way to Gangtok. We were quite hungry and here we got one of the best Aloo Parathas that we ever had anywhere. Big well-stuffed Aloo Parathas along with a plate containing Curd, Pickle, Butter, Vegetable, Sauce, Mayo and ofcourse Kadak Masala Chai as well. Apart from the food, the owner and the staffs here are very warming and friendly (hospitality at its best). On our way back to NJP from Gangtok we called them and unfortunately they were closed already. But guess what, they reopened the shutters just for us and made those delicious aloo parathas along with Masala chai for us.(I said, Hospitality at it's best...I mean who does that for five strangers that too at late night.?) We also got to know few stories about this place. The didi who runs this place is very sweet and so are her staffs. This place is very underrated. Anyone going to Gangtok, will definitely go through the road in Melli where this hotel is. Do give it a try. You'll remember those Aloo parathas forever.

Best breakfast place on the way from NJP to Gangtok. The Aloo parathas were huge and tasty, we also had momos, maggi and tea. It was so good that we went back a second time while returning to NJP. We called them before going and the restaurant was already closed, but they re-opened it for *us* and served us steamy hot Aloo parathas. The owner is very sweet and friendly, and they have the cutest dogs :)

It is a nice food joint on the way to Gangtok or pelling from Siliguri. It is located about 500 metres ahead of the road that takes a turn from Melli towards the bridge on the teesta. Food is good and served hot and it serves as a nice stopover point on the journey. Rice, momos, aloo paratha etc all common food is available here

Tried aloo paratha very big and tasty and tea also very nice....little expensive in price but worth try while going from bagdogra to Gangtok
