Gungun Homestay - Home Stay in Rishikesh - Tehri Garhwal, India

I've stayed at the Gungun Homestay with a friend just for 2 nights but it was a wonderful staying. The room was very clean and with all the comforts. There is also a big balcony with lots of plants and it is very cozy. We also had dinner here with a thali, it was super tasty (best rise we've ever eaten since we're in India) and also the chai was delicious! The owners are very kind and welcoming. I definitely recommend this place and I wish to come back!

The stay was amazing and the owners were like a family, nice and humble. Also everything was available within 5 mins of distance. The rooms were clean and everything was great!.

The place is very beautiful and affordable. Closer to bike rentals/can rentals and cafes and major tourist spots. Food was awesome, my favorite was their aloo paratha. Homely tasty food. Overall a great experience.

With its nice, cozy, and clean rooms, excellent ventilation, reliable power backup, and delicious homely food, this homestay provided a true homely experience. One of the standout features of this homestay is the attention to detail in every corner. The corners are tastefully decorated with plants and handpainted pots, creating a cozy and inviting ambiance that make you feel right at home. The comfortable beds and plush pillows ensured a restful sleep. Moreover, sufficient windows in the rooms allowed ample natural light to flood in while providing good ventilation, creating a fresh and airy atmosphere throughout. You can also see good views of surrounding mountains from terrace. Only downside was the geyser in my room was not working. They'd provide you room with geyser if you ask. The homestay's commitment to guest comfort truly shone through with their reliable power backup system. The homestay's location proved to be another major advantage. Situated within a reasonable distance from the market, it struck the perfect balance between tranquility and accessibility. This allowed me to easily explore the local area, interact with the locals, and experience the vibrant atmosphere of the nearby market. Overall, I can wholeheartedly recommend this homestay to anyone seeking a truly delightful homely and comfortable retreat. The nice, cozy, and clean rooms, excellent ventilation, reliable power backup, and delectable homely food, combined with the convenient location, made my stay a great experience.

It's really a Home away from home. They are so funny, friendly and welcoming. They have a lot of plants. (The real Secret Garden) and it's very clean. I have stayed there for a month and I will stay there in November for another month. The location ist perfect. Close to Secret Garden and restaurants but not too busy. See you soon. Cat & David

Gungun is a very beautiful home located in the heart of Tapovan and close to the cafes. The rooms are very tidy, neatly maintained. In fact, it felt like home away from home. The hosts take very good care and cater to all requests. We had poha and pahadi thali and it felt like home made food. I recommend this place. Room was spacious, clean and neat. The bathroom was very clean. Don't look for luxury here, look for a home.

We stayed for two nights. Hemu ji is a very good host. And amazing in her cooking style, pahadi thali we tried was really nice. Room was slightly smaller than expected, but clean and cozy. There are two dogs which made my son happy
