This is heaven on Earth. I have friends who visited this place and they too has the same opinion. It is the best and the most beautiful place in Kashmir. If you want to know what paradise might look like. Visit this place. There is a reason people are dying for it. Everyone wants this vally and they are willing to die for it. Because its worth dying for.
Gulmarg is a prime spot of kashmir, and it is a must visit place for everyone in my opinion. It provides you with pristine views, gondola rides, horse rides, and other activities as per the season. However, everyone should be aware of the touts around this area. They are present even at the entrance road of gulmarg and will lie utterly. They fake promises and will try to persuade you into their tricks. You can do all your trip on your own. You can find all sorts of facilities at all spots. So do not trust people approaching you and nagging you. See for yourself and enjoy to the fullest.
It's a heaven! We missed flowers in Gulmarg. If you go summer time you must go end of May when you will gets nice flowers under the hills. If you love snow falling then go in winter with proper clothes.
Please buy the Gondola ticket in advance so that you don't spend more on the sightseeing as they charge hefty for 6points view and horse ride. Please bargain for the service of sightseeing. You can see different types of flowers around 310 varieties wild flowers can be seen.

The scene of tall trees, snow capped mountains, green landscape and cool atomsphere is wonderful. The smell of the horse all around gulmarg is frustrating. The irrational rates of taxis and horses is an irritating spoiler.
We were here for trekking and we ended up climbing mountain till it was covered in full ice . It took almost 4+ hours to complete trekking . It was bit risky while climbing down as visibility was very very low( dense fog and slippery surface and rain ) with steep slope and few us slipped in muddy surface. There are some basic thumbrules- a) please pay on association agreed rate to guide and do not book vehicle or driver via guide. b) to commute to gondola Park your vehicle and agree INR 200 as commuting fee for each person. c) Local sightseen - INR 300 per person as taxi fare and before booking agree on points / attractions covered in trip. d) while booking local sightseen package - ensure that you discuss pass , entry fee etc will be with driver otherwise you will end up wasting atleast 1 hour. e)agree on drop point before booking local signtseen package f) do not pass any comment for services of pony ride or neither recommend or discourage any tourist to use services linked to horse riding. g) if you have backpain or backbone issue avoid horse riding on steep slopes here.

Beautiful place to stay. Very well located as well. The rooms are cozy with heaters in it as well. Only 1 suggestion i would give is that the bathrooms can have some ventilation, else gets a bit stuffy. Staff is courteous, well spoken and prompt.
