One of the best places I visited until today If you find a peaceful place except the temple, you must visit this place and spend lots of time here. You will find lots of heritage buildings and a beach where you can spend quality time. This is a combination of heritage and a clean beach. Mahabalipuram is famous for its vast beache, monoliths, stone carvings, and temples. Visit with your family and enjoy it a lot. The best historical place ever One of the largest temple complexes in the world Wonderful stone works, It's a much more attractive place for tourists. It is always crowded on Sundays and government holidays. You must visit with your friends and family to make some memorable moments with them. The stonework of these monuments is famous worldwide.
Easy way to visit all monuments !! There are many monuments in Mahabalipuram and here is a easy and better way to visit them. You can start near Krishna's butter ball. Parking is available nearby. Not very spacious one but manageable. The entry ticket is 40/- for Indians and we can visit all the monuments with the same ticket. The list of monuments is as below (all within walking distance ) Krishna's butter ball Trimurti cave Ganesha ratha Arjuna's penance Pandavas Cave Krishna mandpam Other 2 places are located within 1-2 kms from this place. Pancha Rathas Shore Temple All the monuments close at 6pm except for Shore temple which is open till 9 pm.
Nice place to visit. The group of monuments Is very well and nicely crafted Design Perfection is at it best
Beware to avoid during summer heat and holidays else you'll be drawn in the pool of people. You can hire auto for 100 bucks to go from one monument to another. Be sure to buy one ticket only for 40 bucks which covers all monuments for the day. Also pay only once 75 bucks for entry in the city.
The group of monuments are a bit spread out in Mahabalipuram but easily coverable in 1.5-2 hours. The Pancha Rathas and shore temple are in separate complexes but the rest are in one single complex. Key ones are Pancha Rathas, shore temple, Ganesh ratha, Krishna's butterball, pancha Pandava Cave and Arjuna's penance. Would recommend starting early as it gets hot after 9 am. We started at 7.30 am and completed at 9 am. Keep the ticket safe (35 rs) as you need to show it at entry points. We had a car but there are autos plying.
Archeological site of India. Must go site. Please reach before 5 pm because to spend some time. Security personnel may send people away after 5.30 to 6pm
It is famous for its temples and monuments, especially the very famous Shore Temple. It consists of three temples built in one single complex, that was constructed way back in the 8th century. Another famous temple is the Pancha Rathas.
We reached Shore Temple at 6:00am and finished all the historical landmarks by 11:00am. I am glad that we are allowed to enter at 6:00am - this allows us to avoid the hot sun later in the day. Also planning to visit later in the evening to see the same landmarks lighted up. Suggestions for improvement: More toilets at various locations and maintain them well. Cleanliness is key. Maps at all important landmarks, showing the relative locations of other historical spots (with distances) will be very helpful.

The hotel is truly no-frills. You get a decent bed, a clean room, a hot shower and a quiet sleep. That's about it. But compared to the other shoddily run guesthouses in the area it's extremely well run. The owner (Yuvi) is super organized, trustwo
