The bed linen was terrible, stained, dusty, seemed unwashed for months. The food was terrible too, a very lackluster menu made without a heart. Approach road is too Rocky for the last 300 meters and might give you a sprain if you're not careful enough. It's a 40 minute walk from the gate which is fine but it's hard to find at night as there are no signposts.
The place is otherwise good, but the place is not well pinpointed on the maps and no signs to direct you either so you have to find your way yourself.
The rooms were okay but not something I would have thought for 7k eventhough it was a rush season.
The service on the other hand was commendable.

Since we were per se looking for a property away from the hustle and bustle of the markets, this property which is located amid a forest made perfect sense for us. Set up between nature's serenity, our entire stay was backed by picturesque views of the dense forest and scintillating misty rainfall. The food is decently priced at and is one of the best chinese ( as per what you get in Matheran). The Victorian styled rooms are humungous with a 25ft ceiling height. The service was warm and made us feel like home. My say, if youre looking for a property away from the market, blindly go for this property. if the market is something youd want to visit every evening then DO NOT go for it as its a 15 mins (one way) walk or a INR 250 one way horseback ride.
Great place to stay. It's in forest area away from market chaos. If you are looking for a peaceful and relaxed place, this is the one .. great food and great service ! Rooms are clean, Food prices are less, they serve amazing breakfast . Most of touristic points are nearby example - echo point , charlotte lake etc.
