The well-kept cottages, standing strong for four years, felt like a timeless retreat. But the real magic? The hosts--they're family, not just superhosts. Personalized care, delightful Sea food, and an unexpected touch--our kid playing with theirs during dinner. Their warmth made us feel at home. It's not just a place to stay; it's a happiness . This place is Paradise Perfectly located, in a calm place by the river. Room is big, clean and comfortable. The host takes care of all details to make the stay amazing. The breakfast and dinner we had was delicious. I would totally come back for a longer stay! :)

We just had a night stay at Green Chromide, the host was so warm and welcoming. Vipin, one of the host, was very helpful in finding our way to the stay. Sunaina was very friendly with us and was always keen on checking on our comfort and satisfaction. The property sits ashore the Kallada river which offers a picturesque and beautiful view of the same. The wood cabin which we stayed in is cozy and nice. The rooms are well maintained and kept neat as well. The atmosphere is so calm and relaxing, it made us want to spend a night more. We had a great dinner also which was homemade by them. They set us up with the canoe ride next morning, which was a worth 2 hour spent through the mangrove islands on the munroe inland waters. And we got a magnificent sunrise view at this time, so we would recommend this totally. Altogether, it was a pleasant stay at Green Chromide.

Our experience at Green Chromide was out of this world! First of all, the whole family is so welcoming, gentle and helpful. The rooms are clean, inviting and the whole atmosphere is just so relaxing and comfortable. The shared access to the river made our 3 nights here as unique as it could get, as you can always sit by, do yoga, meditate or eat the local food they make in a very calming atmosphere. We can only say good things about our stay, but the most special memory is the incredible (!!) local food they make. I highly recommend the special Kerala style fish. The family is there to help you plan your days here, like a traditional canoe ride, Ayurvedic treatment, etc. Thank you so much for this once in a lifetime experience!

I am so happy to have stayed there. It was one of the best place that i have ever stayed. The host made us feel like home. They were so warm and welcoming. Nested amidst nature's beauty, a beautiful retreat that could fill our hearts. The attention to details was evident, from the tasteful decor to severing us delicious home cooked food. Their genuine care and attention to your needs make you feel like an esteemed guest in their own home. I would definitely want my close ones to have that experience once. Thanks for making our stay the most comfortable.

Fabulous place to be...!!! A beautifully decorated chalet with an amazing host family who will attend to you with great enthusiasm. We could chill out watching the ripples of the river, catching fresh air whilst enjoying great home cooked food.... It was a very well maintained, clean property with all amenities and comfort. We stayed for a couple of days here and wished if we could stay longer.. It leaves you with the best feeling of a holiday: "a place where you wish to go back to "!

Fabulous stay at Green Chromide, named after Kerala's official state fish, a palm-size thing that is plentiful in the rivers and canals here on Monroe Island and regular feature in the homestay's delicious fish curry. Stayed in the pine chalet which is spacious, a large bed, and good a/c, (we needed a/c in November). The two chalets are in a private garden, with covered fairy-lit gazebos right on the banks of a wide, lazy river - a stunning location. But the real joy with this stay were the hosts, Suniana and family, who have a house across the lane and are the most helpful homestay owners imaginable. They're keen to make the stay as comfortable as possible, flexible on breakfast hours, offering optional lunch and dinner meals (which TBH you're likely to want since the evening set up under lights by the river is worth staying for). There are some other local food options available by tuk tuk, though all transport on the island is limited and winds down early evening - Munroe is altogether a slower pace than normal India, which is a good part of its charm! Suniana organised drop-offs and pick-ups in their car several times, booked a car for our requested day trip to Jatayu, another to do a personal sunrise canoe trip (worth doing), and tuk tuk to Munroe Island train station (10 mins away). As a keen amateur cook I wanted to see as much cookery as possible and they were really accommodating, allowing me into their kitchen 3 times to see dishes of my choosing being prepared and were helpful with recipe details too. Spent 4 nights here and really enjoyed it. Strongly recommend!

Sunaina's river side wooden chalet is splendid, wish we had more time. Sunaina is an exceptional host, went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. She and her entire family was gracious and involved in hosting us. Apart from serving us scrumptious dinner ( Fish pollichathu, Prawn Roast & dosas) and breakfast ( Puttu & Kadala), she even arranged our site seeing activities (Shikkara & Canoe ) at reasonable prices. Overall a superb experience, we would highly recommend to all, we will be back again soon
