Vast infra, large no of rooms but lacks maintenance, amenities, services and facilities. The booking site is also peculiar as it demands for two days of fare while trying to book for one day.
Great location.. Near prime tourist destinations. The place needs some maintenance work.
Apart from location nothing is good here. No room service, no food, even we asked for a extra pillow, which they treated rudely. Our room had a water supply issue, which no one came to fix. No jet spray, no towel, no soap nothing were provided. No one came for room cleaning also. No telephone in the room to call reception. Basically a cheap hotel just to stay for a night. Even after check out they refused to keep our luggage for 3/4 hrs in their so called reception. We wanted to keep the luggage and visit hazarduari then comeback and collect the luggage and start for station. Any hotel would have helped us, but they simply refused rudely. We went outside and a local food shop (friends restaurant), helped us humbly. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Good Location. Infront of Hazarduari palace
It's a government run hostel not only for youth but also for people of all ages. One of the main reasons for staying at this hostel is its location. It is situated just behind the imambara. If you are staying at the annex building, you may get a good view of the entire town from your room. You will get AC and Non AC rooms at reasonable price. Dormitories for girls and boys are available too. Discount is available for students attending school excursion. As of now, non AC rooms don't have geyser, but the officials have promised to have them installed by next winter. One thing to keep in mind before visiting the hostel is that the bookings must be done online.
Excellent location just opposite of Hazarduari. But lack of proper maintenance, rooms are not upto the marks. Beds , pillow, covers just so so. Rooms are big that's it!! In other state government always promote history and culture of that particular place and maintain a good government owned hotels etc for enhancing tourism. West Bengal is always in reverse mode of directions.
Huge spacious rooms with geysers and western toilets... Room were cleaned daily during our stay.. No restaurant.
Washrooms are little untidy & bedsheets are not well fitted on the beds. One have to be very conscious about sheets while sleeping otherwise one can find himself sleeping on bare mattress. Otherwise a good experience, located exactly behind hazarduari palace. Garden area is very beautiful.
