GHSS Puthupparamba is one of the old schools in Kerala. 100 years ago, it was established by the financial support of well known religious scholar Abdul Bari Musliyar Valakkulam who also was one of the founders of Madrassa system in Kerala. In 1900s, Musliyar used to make awareness on importance of knowledge for a better society. He spoke through action by spending most of his health and wealth for the fulfilness of his dream - an educated society- by establishing facilities for both religious and common educations in the locality. He also have supervised the establishment of Kerala's first Madrasa (Reg.No. 1) in our area. His tomb is infront of Masjidul Bari, located at a few minutes walk away from the school.
