Gouri's Homestay - Hotel in Varkala - Thiruvananthapuram, India

We had a couple stay... room are good but they need to improve little there are no basic amenities like chair in room nor a table to keep things. The main door handle was broken from inside when we told receptionist she said she will fix it.. Secondly in Bathroom there was no rack to keep clothes or towel. Even tap water first day it was clean but second day morning there was no waterso went inform then receptionist she too was not available so we called on the hotel number which was with owner she immediately send someone to fix it but after fixing also there was full muddy water so we couldn't use it... we waited for sometime but still water was muddy ... so we left then... It was more over self service if we need anything the receptionist showed me way to kitchen to take plates spoons from there. Management needs to improve as when you charge 2k for a night then you should maintain. Now a days we get good rooms or stay in this amount with service.. Suggest: your room are good just you need to add basic amenities so that you can attract more tourist. Location is good places are near by from homestay.. We felt homestay is more over for backpackers not for family or couple...

This is the worst home stay/hotel i have ever been in. The rooms are smelly with a really bad odor! The water supply isn't good. Water heating facility isn't available. And the worst part is the room service and the staff! When asked about the bad odor in the room, they straight up told us to check out if we don't like the room! They're so rude. They don't even care about their customers! I highly recommend avoiding this homestay.

Very friendly host who helped us with early check-in as well as late check-out. Located in a prime location, it's accessible to most places. Only point to mention for improvement is the cleanliness of the room and bathroom.

Worst Homestay. Rooms were smelly, No hot water facility. When asked about smelly rooms they said to vacate the hotel instead of solving the issue. We were 7 members and we booked 3 rooms but we had to adjust in one room because other 2 rooms were having unbearable smell. No basic amenities. Water stopped coming in the morning and had to wait for more than half hour to get water and that water was muddy. No proper response from owner. Terrible experience.

The rooms are nicely themed and built planned for this purpose ... The sheets were clean good lighting in the room ... service was very friendly and good and speaks good English ... They provide u with a lot ( water, free wifi , brush for those who forget , soap shampoo , towels ) the best part was the kettle and coffee tea and sugar .... The heater was problematic but nothing that they cannot solve right away ..responds immediately to complaints and gets it checked right away ... Had good parking, very close to the beach at walking distance , overall a good spot for a cheap rate , and safe !

the stay was completely nice and fine. I had a homely experience from there. it's my third time there and I'm still ready to go there again. loved the stay

It's a great little place. Away from the crowded streets but within walking distance from the south cliff. Host was very helpful throughout the stay. Rooms were clean, spacious and comfy. Couldn't ask for more.

It's a beautiful place and feels like home. We had a nice stay. The cafe sarwaa is nearby and you can have a nice breakfast and sunset from cafe sarwaa which is on south cliff. The nearby cafe trip is life and sarwaa are must visit places.
