one of the amazing one day trek in sahyadri gorekhgad is difficult grade need some climbing skills to climb few broken steps enroot it offer beautiful panoramic view of siddhagad
If you don't want to go to crowded places like Harihar fort then this is for you. Gorakhgad fort also has 80 degree staircases in three different parts and the last one going on top of fort is unbelievable. Be careful while visiting in Mansoon as stairs became slippery
Gorakhgad is one of the thrilling trek of Maharashtra. One can enjoy the scenic folds of Sahyadri. It is about 2 hrs. from Kalyan station. It is known for its thrilling 80 degree steep climbing. It seems hard but one can easily climb it.
Very nice fort, must visit in post mansoon season, trek is from dense forest and in last phase trekkers will enjoy thrilling experience.
Best fort near Murbad. In rainy Season it will be risky one. Very great view of Sahyadri from this Fort. This fort having a water tank in backside of trail which had a water very sweet in taste. Gorakshnath Temple on the Top of this fort.
One of the best treks I had in my entire journey of hiking. Climbing the last pinnacle needs moderate assistance. It takes 2 hours to reach the top. Before the fort there is dense forest. Avoid climbing during heavy rainfall.
Amazing trek during monsoon with breathtaking climb to the pinnacle. Views from the fort are amazing. It's a moderate to difficult trek during monsoon. There are caves where one can camp.
Superb trek. Till the base of the fort, it's a pretty decent trek. Till that point it's an easy trek. But from the base of the fort it gets a little tricky with some treacherous rock patches. You have to be really careful on them. One wrong step and it could be disastrous. It can be moderately difficult trek during the monsoons considering the rock patches get slippery. Be very careful. But the experience is super amazing. It's about 2 hrs drive from Belapur to Gorakhgad temple. Its a nice temple with huge complex. Behind the temple starts the trail to the fort. Keep walking and after about 1.5 hrs hike you find another temple from where you hike up to the top of the fort. Ample parking space available. Lovely views. Highly recommended.
