GOPAL AHAR BAHAR - Featured Reviews (531)
Nice ambience, good food, great service. On top of that, it's budget friendly also. Didn't like the kolkata fish fry though, but the biryani is really different and new in taste.
The ambience is so soothing... Love the environment.. the behaviour of the staffs are very homely... the quantity and quality of dishes are perfect...We ordered chelo kebab and mutton duck bunglow...both the dishes are tasty and sufficient for two people... perfect place for a family dine out...
The festive season is finally here, if you are looking for a Multi Cuisine Family Restaurant which Serves quality food in Uttarpara area Then Gopal Ahar Bahar is the right place for you. This Gopal Bhar Themed restaurant is located at Unimark Riviera, 1st floor 22 & 22B, Grand Trunk Rd, Uttarpara and they are famous for their Bengali, North Indian and Chinese Delicacies. This place is decorated beautifully and it can accommodate 40-45 people at once. Recently I was here with my family and tried the following items :
We started with some of their signature Mocktails like Soda Sikanjee, Blue Lagoon and mocktails were very refreshing.
From their food menu We ordered Steam Rice, Bhaja Mong Dal, Aloo Bhaja, Dhokar Dalna, Doi Katla, Katla Kalia, Murgi Pulao, Tawa Tangdi Masal Rice, Murgir Jhol and Chicken Duck Bunglow.
Who doesn't love some steamed rice, Dal and crispy Aloo bhaja? and the delicious Dhokar Dalna took this meal to another level. If you are looking for a veg item don't forget to try this one. I tried Tawa Tangdi Masala Rice for the first time and it was nice but I absolutely loved their Murgi Pulao, it was perfectly aromatic and tasted really good with Chicken Dak Bunglow. The Doi Katla was full of flavours. If you love fish curries this one is a must try.
We ended this amazing gastronomic experience with their signature Dessert Motichoor Payes and Gajar Ka Halwa. The Halwa was okayish but I absolutely loved the Motichoor Payes here. This Dessert is highly Recommended.
Overall I had a great experience. Loved the ambience, the food was great even the staffs were very friendly. Do drop here if you are looking for the best restaurant in Uttarpara area.

Recently went there for lunch. Ordered some very simple bengali food and some chinese - steamed rice, bhaja moong dal, jhuri aluu bhaja, mixed gravy, naan, chilli paneer and paneer tikka. In sweets i had gulab jamun with icecream and lime soda.
I loved the bhaja moong dal it was super tasty, and paneer tikka was so soft and the Chilli paneer as well. The place was really nice and very well maintained, the staffs were also very helpful.

Doi Katla and Katla kalia had authentic bengali flavours and went well with steamed rice. Murgi polao was served with two big pieces of chicken. The sweet murgi polao went well when paired with spicy Murgir jhol.
Motichur Payesh was abit sweeter than gajar ka halwa.

The quality and quality of all the dishes was good. The staffs were cooperative and service was quick.
Enjoyed a variety of Bengali food at the restaurant. It's a little faraway from the city but the atmosphere is what makes up for the trip. Located in Uttarpara, the restaurant has been established to give everyone a taste of true blue Bengali Cuisine. These are the top things I personally enjoyed in the restaurant:
1. Blue Lagoon (recommended)
2. Doi Katla (Recommended strongly)
3. Murgir Polao (highly appreciated)
4. Motichur Payesh (mind blowing)
These 4 items were my favourite. Other than that we also ordered simple food items like Jhuri Aloo Bhaja, Moong Dal, Dhokar Dalna, Tawa Tangri Masala Rice and much more.
Head over there on your Pujas to enjoy a day of eating authentic Bengali cuisine.
