Gods Own Country Kitchen - Seafood restaurant in Varkala - Thiruvananthapuram, India

The cafe provides a pleasant atmosphere with a scenic view. We had the opportunity to try the fish curry and South Indian chicken curry. Although they were delicious, they didn't fully capture the authentic flavor of South Indian chicken curry with coconut milk that we had anticipated. They seemed more reminiscent of a dish you would find in a high-end restaurant. Additionally, we had the chance to sample their cocktails, which were satisfactory.

Good ambience provided by god's own country kitchen. Live music with food very interesting. Good staffs. Food are good quality hot. Good food But rate some high Normal lime rupees 80 Prawn biriyani very good. Rate 350

Was here on Friday morning for breakfast with friends. Was not busy. We tried Kerala breakfast and continental breakfast. Food was decent. Price was worth because of the fantastic view of the cliff. Spacious and good lofi music adds to the vibe. Was here again on Friday evening. Was almost full. Service was tardy. Live music made the ambience worth the wait.

We had dinner twice (sea food) with family and enjoyed the tasty food with great musical evening. Very friendly and cool people, very flexible. Sea view is splendid from the restaurant. Loved it. 5 on 5.

I had a lunch there which included Kerala style chicken curry with Parota & fish. It was delicious food, must say! Ambience is nice with some background music, having food with a sea view feels amazing!

This is the place to go if you only want to take in the ambience. The food is served in about an hour, and the prices are expensive. Try to arrive before 8.30 as orders are closed after 9. However, you can pass the time while waiting for lunch by attending a live music. We sampled God's own special salad, the Boatsman's fish curry with rice, and the vegetable sandwich. It was good food. Nice atmosphere brought on by the breathtaking cliffside scenery. Good and expansive lo-fi music enhances the atmosphere. This location is unavoidable when visiting Varkala. God's Own Country Kitchen's name tells it all--truth speaks! Visit once

Gods Own Country Kitchen is delicious! YES, eating here is more expensive. However, you are right on the waters edge of the cliff with a beautiful view. Food is always more expensive when you are in a prime location. So, lets talk about the food. We sat down about noon for lunch and there were not a lot of people here so we were able to sit right at the front of the restaurant with the wonderful view. The fish monger came over and showed us all the fresh catches of the day and we picked out a beautiful white snapper to share. (800rs). They then grilled the snapper to perfection with lemon, butter, garlic, and chilis and on the side came french fries and a small salad. Everything tasted soooooo good and fresh! The service was wonderful, as well. The staff were very attentive. Our servers name was Raki ( spelling?) and he was fantastic! While we were eating it started raining so we spent the next hour sipping cold beer and people watching with happy full bellies! Gods Own Country Kitchen does take credit cards. They have an extensive menu. Prime location. Fresh fish. Cold beer. Basically - Yes - this is a wonderful choice if your looking for a restaurant along the cliff!
