Nice staff and good hospitality compared to other government hospitals

GMERS Medical College Sola established under the Gujarat Medical Education & Research Society, Ahmedabad is affiliated to Gujarat University. It is recognized by Government of India and Medical Council of India to admit 150 students. GMERS Medical College Sola, Ahmedabad was inaugurated by the Honorable Health Minister of Gujarat in 2009. The attached Civil Hospital Sola was inaugurated in 1986 and started providing general medical care with post partum services. Over the period hospital gradually got sanctioned into different specialties. The hospital plan is basically made up of 5 blocks. In 1986 only Block A was started; B block and E block came up later. In 2009 hospital had 56 sanctioned beds and now it is having 720 beds along with other critical care beds. Overall beds can be increased up to 900 based on the current infrastructure. Hospital has a turnout of 70% of urban-rural patients. At present, hospital has not only got high inflow of patients in OPD but is having bed occupancy of more than 75 %. Location of the hospital and its accessibility has given it a good opportunity to serve the urban-rural population of the surrounding area who cannot afford to avail of the expensive treatment offered by nearby private healthcare organizations in the city. The hospital has a well defined HMIS which is common to all the Government of Gujarat Hospitals. The hospital underwent NABH Accreditation pre-assessment in July 2008 and after completing the identified Non Compliances underwent final assessment on September 24 and 25, 2009. The General Hospital was the second NABH Accredited Hospital in Gujarat. The Medical College Sola got LOP for admitting 150 MBBS students in 2011 has successfully cleared the inspections and is now recognized by Government of India and Medical Council of India to admit 150 students.

I am currently studying here . The college as such study wise is good enough. Faculties push you to give your best , infrastructure wise its not the best. Toilets are broken and water problem is regular . Hostels are fine . Very frequent water issues and cleanliness is not maintained . The cleaners don't come regularly . Hospital is really good . Patient flow is great so a good learning experience for students . Treatment wise also the hospital is good .

Worst college to visit. Had visited for document verification for Medical/dental UG admission but the staff there was very rude and behaved inappropriately. Very filthy people to have as staff for such a good government college. They fought me and my brother over a simple issue. They just want to earn money from government but don't want to do their jobs or should i say get their hands dirty.

It needs to be made more patient friendly.

Very good hospital in Ahmedabad. Free of cost and a very dedicated pool of doctors available all the time. It is a great service the hospital is doing to the all class of people. They don't ask about your financial condition for opd appointment, even though the hospital is for poor. I salute every doctor of this hospital. Jay hind. Vende mataram.

Excellent services from government of gujrat. Free medical services to each and every class of society. Every citizens were equally treated here. Medical college is also there for providing medical science education to students with deep interest by qualified professionals.
