Nice and silent place Evening prayer is absolutely soothing
A historic Roman Catholic church located in Byculla. It is one of the oldest Roman Catholic churches in Mumbai. This church was built by the Portuguese Franciscans in 1632 at Mazgaon and dedicated to the Virgin Mary. The original church was demolished in 1911 and the present church was built in 1912 at Byculla. The architecture of this church is English Gothic Revival style. The interior of the church is beautiful having wooden pews, stained glass window panes, pulpit, pipe organ, supporting pillars, chandeliers etc. Outside the church is a statue of Jesus Christ. Had attended a funeral mass service in this church. It is an ideal place of worship for Catholics as well as people of other faith.

Old church. Historical place. Architecture is awesome. large windows, colours and wooden work. good maintain, peace and clean place, ambience is very good. Highly recommend from my end.
A catholic church also has a Boys school in the campus (Antonio De Souza High School). I am from the same school. I had the best memories from this school. The church is in a compound used as a playground by the school. The back side of the church is known as the white stone. (contains a statue of white marble)

This church is more than a 100 years old. It is a heritage site and protected under the law. It has a wonderful setting and peaceful surroundings. You can visit during the evenings and attend mass. There is always celebration of mass during Christmas, New Year and Easter. It is one of the best churches in south Bombay. It also has a school on campus.
