If you are someone who is interested in our culture, bhagwad geeta this is a place for you. Each shloka of the Bhagwad Geeta is carved on a stone pillar at this scenic place. Surrounded by nature, this place is beautifully crafted.
Geetai is Marathi translation of Bhagwat Geeta by Vinoba Bhave in poetic and simple Marathi language. Here, Geetai's all shlokes are inscribed on large stones structure, which are brought from many parts of India. People usually came to sit in this calm and peaceful place. It's my second visit. I've seen others religion beliefs too came to visit here. There is no entry ticket fee. In the same campus there is Jamanalal Bajaj Museum, who did huge philinthrophy for social need and support Gandhi's initiatives.
Serine place with a beautiful view. Evening time is the best to visit. The stones surrounding the garden is arranged in the shape of a cow on aerial view. Good place for meditation also.
In deference to the wish of his mother, Acharya Vinoba Bhave had translated all 700 verses of Bhagavad Gita in Marathi. It was first published in the form of a book in 1932. He titled this book as Gitai, which means Mother Gita. To create a memorial of his kulguru Vinoba's work Gitai, Shri Kamalnayan Bajaj conceptualized the Gitai Mandir which was agreed by Vinobaji. The shilanyasa (laying the foundation stone) was done by Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan and the construction was undertaken by the Kamalnayan Bajaj Charitable Trust. The construction of Gitai Mandir was completed in 1980. Vinobaji himself inaugurated it on 7th October, 1980 being the 50th anniversary of the commencement of writing of Gitai.
