Nice and old temple. There are a total of 3 temples here. Its believed that lord krishna was given a funeral over here. There is a cave called balram cave. But its a small one. However not much to see in this place just an ordinary temple. You can see it withing 5-10 minutes
My experience at this temple was truly memorable. The tranquil ambiance, stunning architecture, well-maintained grounds, and friendly staff all contributed to a delightful visit. I highly recommend this temple to anyone seeking a peaceful and spiritually uplifting experience.
Gita Mandir is one of the sacred temples nearby the Somnath Jyotirlinga temple and dedicated to Lord Shri Krishna and current structure of temple built in the year of 1970 by Birla Group. The Gita Mandir is famous for its depiction of Holy book Bhagavad Gita and wall paintings of Lord Krishna. There are eighteen pillars in the temple and on each pillar is inscribed one chapter of Bhagavad Gita.
As per mythology, Gita mandir is situated at the spot where Lord Krishna took rest after his walk from Bhalka Theerth to Triveni Theerth, before his journey to Neej Dham. This incident happened after he was hit by an arrow, towards the end of Dwapara Yuga and Lord Krishna proceeded to heaven from this place.
This temple is part of a small complex comprising of 3-4 temples, which is very near the Triveni sangam. Actually, this complex is at the end of the road leading from the main Somnath temple to all the smaller but very sacred Hindu temples mentioned of Somnath.
The temple's current white marble structure was built by the Birla Group and hence is also referred to as "Birla Mandir ''. The 18 marble pillars at the temple portray the Bhagavad Gita by beautiful inscriptions on them. The temple is built in a way that one can hear his own echo within the temple.
The temple is well maintained, very peaceful and holy place. Must visit temple, when you visiting the Somnath, since many people dont know about this and is not as famous as Somnath temple.

This is the most peaceful place in the somnath. This Gita Temple is devoted to Lord Vishnu and Devi Laxmi. There are 4-5 other temple all related to Mahabharata & Lord Krishna in its premises. Surrounding is very pleasant here. One should visit here and spend some time whenever they visit somnath. The pleasent vibe here makes you feel good and calm.
Regret to see that the place is not in good condition. Local administration should pay attention to improve the site, do renovations etc.
