I recently had the pleasure of visiting Girish Bhabon, and I must say, it was a truly enchanting experience. Nestled amidst the picturesque landscapes, this cultural hub provided an immersive journey into the realms of art, music, and theater. Unable to get inside or I don't know they allow to visit inside the house.

Girish Chandra Ghosh was a Bengali actor, director, and writer. He was largely responsible for the golden age of Bengali theatre. He cofounded the Great National Theatre, the first Bengali professional theatre company in 1872, wrote nearly 40 plays and acted and directed many more, and later in life became a noted disciple of Sri Ramakrishna. As a Bengali I've huge respect to the father figure of our Bengali theater Shri Girish Chandra Ghose. This historical house of Girish babu plays an important part of our rich cultural heritage. He lived here from 1844 to 1912. Girish babu was co-founder of the first professional theater group in India, the 'Great National Theater '. Later he went on to become one of the prominent disciple of Thakur Shri Ramkrishna Paramhansadev. Girish Bhavan is located on Girish Avenue in north Kolkata.

This house is our famous theatre writer, actor, director's house which name is Shri Girish Chandra Ghosh...Who was the co-founder of our professional bengali theatre which name is "great national theatre"... he written many drama scripts & theatre books... He was very devoted to shri ramakrishna paramahamsadeb... This house is now closed for tourist, this house is maintain by KMC..This house is middle on the road..and now he still stands like a king on the middle of our "city of joy".. This house is located on girish avenue and very close to bagbazar ferry ghat & girish mancha....

The first floor of Girish Bhavan is a museum according to the caretaker. The ground floor is just an empty space. They open this on the 28th of Feb every year, on Girish Ghosh's birthday.

He cofounded the Great National Theatre, the first Bengali professional theatre company in 1872, wrote nearly 40 plays and acted and directed many more, and later in life became a noted disciple of Sri Ramakrishna. His house is kept as it is even though it is in the middle of the road making its location unique.
