Very homely & excellent breakaway place. Thomas & Laly are wonderful couple & give utmost care for the guests. They take efforts in making guests comfortable by taking care for of minute things also. Thanks Thomas & Laly for a wonderful stay in your place. The place is very neat & clean, beautiful with rich greenery, far from the busy roads full of traffic. One will only hear birds chirping & wind in this place, see only mountains around full of greenery & in rainy season, back waters of a small dam nearby. If someone wants to getaway from all the busy life, relax, wants to enjoy nature & Kerala food, this is the right place. This place is at the edge of Silent Valley & Mr. Thomas can guide/help in arranging a jungle safari. The thick, evergreen, untouched forest is excellent for nature lovers. Though not many wild animals can be spotted in the thick forest, nature is worth a visit. Charges are nominal & like other places, you do not get surprises at the end when you pay.

My wife and I came from the US to stay at Gingerhill nest. Their house is beautiful. The rooms are clean and have a balcony which over look the valley. Lovely mornings listening to the birds. The meals made by Mrs. Laly were gourmet -- made from ingredients from their garden. Conversation with Mr. Thomas was really enjoyable, like listening a professor discuss agriculture, history, economics of the area. I highly recommend this homestay for anyone visiting the area.

Wish I cold give 10 Stars!!! If you really want to experience the true Kerala culture, its people and its cuisine, then Gingerhill Nest is your ONE answer! The plantation is on a beautiful hill overlooking a reservoir with beautiful gardens full of flowers and spices surrounding it. The owners, Thomas and Laly are one of the BEST COUPLE I have ever met in my life...I LOVED THEM ! They will make you feel welcome and at home the moment you arrive. The rooms are clean and nice with all basic amenities. Laly is by far the BEST COOK ever and prepares outstanding Authentic Kerala food on Wood fire and in Earthen Pots even in this age of fast food which takes her food to next level of deliciousness...We ate till we could not even stand up ;) Despite some language barriers, we could talk and share recipes and laugh with each other which was amazing! They were also super nice to our driver which spoke volumes about them! I can write 100 pages review only on K T Thomas :) He is not only the BEST HOST but also extremely knowledgeable about everything making conversations super interesting and meal times fun! He showed us around the plantation and explained a lot about various spices. Please don't forget to taste some fresh TODDY while there :) Thomas also arranged for us to visit a Coconut Oil factory which was very interesting. THANK YOU LALY and THOMAS for making our Kerala trip memorable...We will be back and we are going to recommend your Beautiful Gingerhill Nest to the whole world !! PS- Please keep at least TWO days to really soak in the beauty of this place and to enjoy Laly's food :)

Best place to visit and stay with kids, u can stay here even with small kids uncle and aunty are so lovely.... kids enjoyed their company well and kids were served what they liked. Feels like we are in our own house...Food is also too good,served with love and care. Room is clean and well maintained. Everyone who is planning to visit pallakad/malampuzha must come and stay here.

Amazing expirience wonderfull home staying? Very warm people , they took us to visit their plantations in the evening and early in the morning, a place for relaxe
